Suggestions from emby server not loading in Android tv
Luke replied to buhochileno's topic in Android
Hi. Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks. -
I've added settings for some other wise hardcoded values to icon placements. I also fixed the filename rule bug that put an icon in for every file name hit. Pictures speak louder than words. @GrimReaperThe last one there might be of interest to you, again it's the best i can do as everything is % based so hard to make everything move independently. WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! This is a beta and should only be used on a test server as bugs might have been overlooked or new once have snugged in. Keep in mind that enabling everything at once might be CPU intensive for smaller CPU's so keep an eye on your CPU usage if using small and/old CPUs! Testing has been done on a system with Ryzen 3900x with no noticeable slow down, granted that isn't a small CPU. A thank you to @Neminemfor testing the caching optimizations i did so i could add the extra features and reminding me that a save button would be needed. A thank you to all for the suggestions as well! Don't be afraid to come with suggestions even though i might be more and more inclined to reject them as the plugin gets bigger and bigger. Having an odd issue where I cannot start playback at the beginning of a file, but I can start playback anywhere else. Started happening recently. From the logs I see this error report: *** Error Report *** Version: 4.9.4.1 Command line: /system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /config -ffdetect /bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 Operating system: Linux version 6.12.15-production+truenas (root@tnsbuilds01.tn.ixsystems.net) (gcc (Debian 12.2.0-14) 12.2.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Debian) 2.40) #1 OS/Process: x64/x64 Framework: .NET 8.0.22 Runtime: system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll

It's not the Emby devs who work on the Truenas app Hjason, that's kinda why this whole thing has been dragging on. Stavros(maybe others too i don't know) made an app and is using some sort of script/bot to push updates to it. He is not part of the Emby team as far as i'm aware. Emby had a naming scheme in the past which funnily enough seemingly accidently since it wasn't their plan to do so and nobody seems to know where it came from but that's what the Truenas people were using and what let the Truenas app run and work with a stable release. Untill the Emby devs who didn't know that this was a thing had a release with a version name that didn't line up with that naming scheme. There's been months of back and forth on this and now it should get fixed with a future update that get's pushed out. An update from Emby that is. Once Emby puts out an update that ends in .0 the script/bot will do it's thing and push the update to the Truenas users which in turn will give an update to the Truenas app. This sequence of events should give a stable release to people who use Truenas to host Emby. But i want to repeat once again that i don't know how smooth updating from beta to stable will be or if we will have to do a quick reinstall. Time will tell on that one.

Please Fix the Zoom Effect – Makes Navigation Feel Laggy and Clunky
Luke replied to Tigga5's topic in Android
Hi, we are working on improving it. Thanks. -
Hi, for background playback you will probably want to use an installed Emby app. The browser is likely pausing or throttling the tab to conserve resources.

A lot of videos are stopping only 10 seconds into playback

HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks ! -
Hi, no, you can import a tuner from nextpvr but it’s just a tuner source. Recordings are still managed by Emby.
-
Hi, yes it makes sense. Thanks.
-
Possibly an earlier 4.9 release although I’m not positive. I really wouldn’t suggest rolling back for something so minor although it’s up to you to decide what’s important to you.
-
Hi I don’t have an eta yet sorry.

Suggestion: Built-in Social Media Video Import (Instagram, etc.)
Suliamu replied to jackmoris436's topic in Feature Requests
There is often people requesting features to be put inside emby that already exists perfectly outside of it. For example often it's requested to implement certain storage providers. Rclone does already solve this question. For multiple providers. Everything you could wish for. And in your case the tool you are looking for is yt-dlp. And there is countless wrappers for it, also with mediaserver integrations. Also with emby integration. Point being is that for both cases in order to "maintain" functionality the emby team would have to do a lot of work and patching and testing just for those couple features, while there is dedicated expert teams out there doing this already for free open source software. You just have to know about it and learn to use it. And also the instagram downloader you linked there is most likely using yt-dlp. Basically every site in the internet offering download from fb, ig, X, tiktok, yt whatever uses yt-dlp. -
Damn, yeah -- just realizing that. I think I have a tool that lets me query .db files -- that might be the better route.
-
Only issue with plugin is it only tracks from time of installation as it runs its own db.
-
Ooooh wonderful recommendation, thanks. I'll check that out.

How to remove all fanart, add own and keep new from downloading?
Happy2Play replied to MediaIntelNUC's topic in General/Windows
There is no option within Emby for this. One would just do a blanket search on your filesystem for fanart and just delete. Correct but one should be able to just disable Backdrops setting it to 0 in your image fetcher options. Lock is stored in DB also preventing automatic changed to item. But does not stop manual changed. -
Currently there is no option besides manually copying the activitylog.db and doing your own queries on that db or grabbing on from the backup folder. Opening the Activitylog in the ui is not searchable do to the virtual loading as you scroll as it could take forever for this log that technically goes back years or as old as your server. I would assume devs would have to add a specific search option for this database only. This is where the Playback Reporting plugin has some advantages with being able to query it db within the plugin.
