I am using Version 4.10.0.20 beta, with Trakt plugin V 3.8.6. When I click on get PIN a browser window opens with this url: https://trakt.tv/oauth/authorize?response_type=code&client_id=<user_id>&redirect_uri=urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob - (I replaced user_id) and I get a blank page. According to what I found :oauth:2.0:oob is obsolete for logging in to Trakt. In other words, I'm locked out from using the Trakt plugin till the plugin is updated.

Yeah I noticed that on the forum post too lol. Install numbers might be one thing, but functionality/client support is another as I've already highlighted. Most other selfhosted FOSS projects don't have to deal with as much client app sprawl as a media server does. Typically at most they need an android & IOS app, so development/support isn't so bad. At the end of the day though I think it's probably better to be humble. Look at what became of Subsonic, Madsonic, Libresonic, Airsonic, Airsonic-Advanced, and the fork of Airsonic-Advanced that was basically being maintained by one guy up until a year ago (along with any of other Subsonic forks I'm forgetting) You have a mix of paid (Subsonic & Madsonic) & FOSS variants that are all basically dead now. It's a shame because IMO the *sonic servers were/are pretty much the best music-centric media servers to exist. The last time I looked into Navidrome it was still missing a bunch of functionality and is pretty much completely tag based. I've been going through the painstaking process of moving my music over to Emby, but it's a chore to say the least as my tags are a mess and I never bothered with fixing tags on the *sonic servers since they worked perfectly fine just off of file/folder structure. Not saying that Emby doesn't, it's just far pickier if you want metadata to be correct and don't want to turn your entire music library into a mess. Sorry for the rant, but my point was that regardless of if it's FOSS or paid software, we're all relying on the whole house of cards to not come crashing down so our stuff still works. There's clear precedent that even successful FOSS or paid projects can stop being developed at any time.

What kind of subtitles, .srt, .ass and so on?

Ok then I guess, that's it or transcode the audio to AAC Stereo. But Transcoding audio should be a task it can handle, most potatoes can do this, without breaking a sweat. Did you see what cpu usage it was using when transcoding audio?

I think the best codex for browsers are still. video : H264 Audio : AAC 2.0 Subs : text based like srt. So It might be the AC3 is not supported by your browser. What browser are you using and have you tried with another browser?

After activation of audio transcoding it works fine. Any other possibility without transcoding? The 3040 doesn't has so much performance if multiple streams are in use.

So did a reboot of my device(Pixel pro xl) and now it opens the browser window. so not sure why it was not working, but so far so good

I think you are talking about the emby expiry plugin... actually it is not a bug. It is issue with image caching....sometimes emby or your browser persists on showing the old cache image after you updated the status of the movie. Like you said if you remove a movie from a delete queue list it should not display a leaving badge but because it loads the old image the badge persists. so try clear cache image under general tab on the plugin or try it by opening emby in incognito in your browser and if problem persists lemme know

Many reason for consistently using exactly same metadata, for preserving custom descriptions etc, there is many reasons, not all use case are limited to media servers. Only emby fails to have a check for imdb identifiers, which is really simple bug fix to implement. `^tt` could be used to prevent this mistake from happening. or have proper uniqueid support and drop this legacy thing.

Why do you use the Sonarr/Radarr nfo functionality when all you need is a proper folder naming for Emby to generate them?

Is there a reason you're not handling it the same way Cheese did? Putting an additional NFO in the folder means more clutter, and it needs to be named something different to the video file so there's more chance it gets accidentally separated. For example, I just had to go through and renumber a couple of episode's I'd accidentally given the wrong filename, and a separate backup NFO could easily have been forgotten about and got detached from the episode it was related to.

Hi I'm working on a mobile Emby Server which I can take with me in the car, plane and vacation for the kids. As a server I'm using a Dell Wyse 3040 with integrated wifi card and attached a USB stick for the content to it. As OS i'm using Dietpi. Power comes from a powerbank. Everything works like a charm, with the Emby app, BUT when I try to use a browser from a notebook I don't get audio to work. I tested several notebooks and browser already. As the unit has not enough performance I configred it for direct play. Any idea? Could not wait for Emby to fix their outdated legacy PIN flow. I got Trakt working again. I'm in the middle of two plugin projects — this was holding me back. Not sure when Emby are going to realise their outdated legacy PIN flow urgently needs updating.

4 years later this still an issue luke.
