Then I save myself from all the hassle, I guess... Was fun hack project though, never wrote mobile app before or even attempted to do so. -

Xtream Tuner — turn your IPTV subscription into a full Emby Live TV
Apotropaic replied to Firestaerter's topic in Plugins
I’m sure everyone will have an opinion on this but I’ll give you mine! Regardless if you use this plugin or not I would install dispatcharr. It gives you the ability to group multiple streams into one single channel. So only one channel instance is exposed to emby/users but dispatcharr in the background will pick the stream that’s working and will automatically switch to another. You can also reorder the streams in order of preference too, resolution, bitrate, audio codec etc. This method also gives you static channel numbers that are easy to move around and insert new channels inbetween. You can also rename the channels however you wish. The whole channel management is amazing. If you have multiple accounts or sources then these can all combined with ease. Selecting/De-delecting groups is easier. I’ve used IPTVBoss too. The chattiness issue…dispatcharr does expose some of the underlying streaming options so there is more control over it, but I can’t say just out of the box it will be better. Dispatcharr can also work as a proxy which you may or may not like the idea of… So now to why you may want both this and dispatcharr. For me it’s the strm generation for VOD content. It’s the best solution I’ve found so far, everything else is as you say very clunky. But I’ve not tested it throughly yet. If you only use Live TV and apart from the fast switching that you’ve mentioned there is no compelling reason to use this and dispatcharr. I’m not using it as yet, I’m still pulling in a M3U from dispatcharr into emby as a M3U tuner. I’m planning on doing some testing in the next week or so. I just don’t want to break the system I have for live tv! -

Anyway, due to being low priority for devs. Started with small sideproject for myself, PlexAMP kind of App for Emby. I have a rough prototype, currently only supporting playlists and their playback. It will be IOS only (we have plenty of Android music players for Emby anyways). -

Xtream Tuner — turn your IPTV subscription into a full Emby Live TV
grizlyadams replied to Firestaerter's topic in Plugins
I currently have IPTVBoss set up to create M3U files on the server and emby set up with an M3u TV Source and and XMLTV guide data source. It works, but it pretty horrible and clunky. I was just about to install dispatcharr when I cam across this (on reddit) Why would I need this AND dispatcharr rather than just dispatcharr. I get the streamflow will make channel changes quicker. Does this reduce emby's "chattiness" that can get it blocked from some streams/providers? or is that another reason for installing this alongside dispatcharr? I haven't installed wither yet, so forgive me if my questions seem a bit novice like. - Today

Yes, but wouldn't it be better to add the option to include all specials to avoid these issues? I have seen 22 problems with TVDB and its specials, so instead of blaming someone else and ignoring the issue, maybe fixing this feature by adding a toggle to avoid these issues would be better. IP mean people who go through the trouble of adding the specials to the specials folder in the first place prob means they want to see them when they aired. Whether TVDB has it listed as crucial or not. I use Emby for anime, and this genre is all messed up on tvdb and most specials are important and part of the story. Surely adding a simple toggle to add all specials to their place would not be much trouble. honestly with anime, this is the most important feature cause anime has a lot more specials than regular shows.

Hi Quickmic, I'm not sure exactly when this started, but after selecting a live TV show (IPTV addon), Kodi will not release the tuner when I stop the TV show it in the GUI. When selecting Live TV to record using the Kodi context menu, It will record and stop properly with no issues. If I reboot the Emby server, The tuner is released. I'm currently running Kodi Piers Alpha2 Ver 22.0 Compiled 2026-02-27 and E4K Ver 12.4.5 HDHomerun 2 tuner box. Please let me know if you need further info. Thanks!

LG Alex

I feel your pain. I have 4 different "Eric Claptons". Tagged whole music library with beets several times, nothing helped. Even retagged without musicbrains, same result. -

A little more perspective... Mp3tag counts the number of unique albums in my library as 1,682. Emby puts the count at 2,321. There are many (most?) albums that are treated correctly. Not all of the problem albums are large - I just spotted a single-CD album with just five files (four from one artist and one file from that artist collaborating with one other) that emby splits into two albums. -

Hi Luke, reviving this topic to ask if we could ever expect that "convoluted" subtitle structure (aka "the rarbg structure") to become recognized in Emby. I've come to realise the unusual structure of <Series>/Season 1/Subs/<Series> S01E01/English.srt makes a ton of sense when you're interested in having +3 sub languages for an episode. If you were to keep all of these in the main season folder of a 20-ep season, suddenly it gets really messy (since every language gives you +20 additional files in the same folder).

Thanks for the info on cleaning. Seems to have helped a lot but one thing I noticed is for movies as part of a numbered list are hardware to clean up. ie. Original name EN-TOP - 01. SR (1993) I can take out the EN-TOP - but then i'm still left a movie name with numbers in front of them. Using v1.4.26.0 with emby stable 4.9.3.0 What I've discovered is the information is saved but it is not always reflected right away. If I navigate to the emby dashboard and then back to the plugin page everything looks normal. I tested on a different server with 1.4.39 and I don't see that issue. -
I've had some time to play around with the new home screen sections a bit over the past few weeks and found that a mix of views using tags and playlists work best. For things like Trakt and MdbList tags work best as they are universal and are the same across all users. Also list ordering is less critical as most people, I suspect, will want some variability in what they see on the list and not just the top 10 over and over. I've been using the AutoTag plugin for this. For user specific recommendations and server specific popular/trending lists, playlists are the way to go. The ordering is more important in this case and there is no way to define the order when using tags other than the title, release date, added on, etc. I don't know that there is a way to create home section via the API yet. You can copy setting manually between users though. This might be a barrier to making things completely seem less. I personally don't mind setting things up once as long as the tags and playlists continue to update.

Standroid replied to Standroid's topic in General/Windows
Thanks All for reading and replying. It has given me hope that my schema "should" work and encouragement to dive deeper in search of a solution. First, I believe that there are no "rogue" tags, e.g. "Album Artist" with a space. That confidence relies heavily on mp3tag's "Extended Tags" view as well as its striping of ID3 tags, so if there are known weaknesses there my confidence may be misplaced. Again, my library is exclusively FLAC audio files. Here's what I have done to attempt to recreate the problem: Starting with one of the many large albums that show the issue, (500 Years of Organ Music, Vol.2), I isolated five short tracks performed by three different artists. Currently, these five tracks are displayed in Emby>Music>Albums as members of three different albums, all displayed as "500 Years of Organ Music, Vol.2". I copied those five files with just the following edits to each file: 1. Album name was edited to "500 Years of Organ Music, Vol.0", 2. The text "TEST_" was prepended to the "OrigTitle" tag which generates... 3. A new "Title" with "TEST_" embedded and 4. Generates a unique filename so that these can coexist with the original files in my flat-file library. 5. The "AlbumArtist" tag remains "Various Artists", The "Artist", "Composer", etc tags remain unchanged from the originals. Then, in Emby>Music>Folders and selecting the folder I did a "Scan Library Files". (drum roll...) Presto, ONE (just one) new album by "Various Artists" with all five test files and each correctly tagged with their artist - all exactly as emby is supposed to do! So, I was unable to recreate the problem in isolation. I have created two zip archives of the five files in original and edited forms if anyone would care to take a peak. Each archive is 34MB and I don't know if it's appropriate to post them here?? Thanks again for sticking with me. Apologies for the length of the posts, but my goal was to save you time asking questions. -

Since you haven't posted any troubleshooting info or provided any context, I'm going to assume you have no idea what you're doing... In that case: Is the server even running? What do the Emby server logs show? If you're using a reverse proxy, is it running? Can you access Emby from the webpage / other devices? Or is the problem just on tv? Can you access Emby on local network? Can you ping the server? Is your DNS server/provider working? If you've using domain name to connect, are the DNS records correct? Honestly, if you just go to chatgpt.com and tell it your emby server is not working it, it would guide you through the process of debugging. The answers on these forums will not be any different. -

Emby has a portmapper plugin that utilizes Upnp to automagically take care of port forwarding. Tech Savvy people have this disabled and turned off and "manually" handle ports. Since you haven't really explained your environment (from what I can read) and honestly, don't know much about eero what their web interface looks like for port forwarding its difficult to assist. If you goto whatsmyip.org from a laptop or computer and display the first 2 octects of your ip, we can tell if you are behind CGNAT or not. I would never take the ISP word for it as generally fist level support don't even know what that means. By first 2 octects I mean EXAMPLE your ip is XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX so if the first two are the first two XXX.XXX again Example, if you have 10.xxx or 172.xxx or 192.xxx you are definitely behind CGNAT. If you have let's say 99.xxx you have a public IP. your INTERNAL network will most likely always be 10, 172 or 192. The idea is to port forward all incoming requests from EXTERNAL 99.xxx port 8096 to INTERNAL 192.xxx Thats the first step.

Now I have read 5000 dvd.iso files into Emby after testing for a couple of weeks. The dvd.iso files where there are several subtitles to choose from, there is something wrong with the subtitles' font. Is it possible to modify your ISO mounter/player so that the subtitles' font is easier to read? Photo 4 + 6 = good font to read photo 5+7 = bad font to read it is the same on a windows computer and on the Samsung TV -

I'm just testing out some of the functionality and so far it's been very positive, a great project so well done! One query I have is, what if there is a scenario where you don't want to enter the upstream credentials and only want to use dispatcharr? I've entered my dispatcharr account in the initial Connection Settings but I have not enabled the dispatcharr integration. Does the plug-in know I am using a dispatcharr server so I get those benefits, or am I not using this as designed? Just for info, if I do enable the dispatcharr integration and I enter the same credentials the connection test fails with "✗ Login failed (HTTP 401). Response: {"detail":"No active account found with the given credentials"}" -
