So when I set this up three years ago, I installed three guide data sources: USA 36801, USA 30301 & USA 35005. In this manner, I would guide data for all the channels we received, even though a number were inconsistently. It was three years ago, but I'm thinking I left USA 36855 out intentionally because of overlap. I utilized 36801 instead. I can't remember the specific issue that drove me to utilize 36801, but it wouldn't be an issue for to change to 36855. USA 36863 maybe a better fit, however.

One thing that I've been dreaming for is generation of playlists based on playcounts or watchtime for all users on the server. Things like "Most watched this week/month" "Or Tending on his sever" types of playlists. There is another project Aperture that does this already and the Dev does plan to include some feature that Home Screen Companion already has. There is something nice about having a native plugin like HSC to keep things simple. Anyways I'm not aware of a way to track playcounts and playtime across users natively in Emby. All current solutions manage this through a secondary database. It would be amazing if HSC had a way to tie into though existing metrics to levage user data. You can’t prevent Emby from reading information that is embedded in your files.

Can you please show a screenshot of the contents of the plugins folder now? After you deleted the DLL files you should try starting up the server again. For good measure you could even reboot the machine and then start the server.

I know i promised that i would get an update out with a fix for the light theme (menu not visible). I got carried away when working on the plugin so I ended up building in some big improvements aswell. So it might take another day or two until next release with that fix, just use dark theme until then if its a big issue. Sorry about the trouble, but... Teaser for next release. Now we can manage each users home screen sections directly from the plugin. We can move the sections and adjust the order. This function is completed and works like a charm! Curently working on a way to create a home screen section directly from the Tag and Collection menu. So when we create an entry for a tag or collection, there will be an option to also create a home screen section for this entry and select what users to give it to. Next step is then to adjust order (with the function above) for one user, and then copy it to all others. All this could possibly be automated aswell. If i can get this working, it will be a HUGE improvement from Embys native way of doing this at the moment.

Yes. I've switched to docker inside a Proxmox VM since the beginning of this year. It's auto updated with watchtower. Same problem. Stop casting, force closing the app and recasting solves the problem most of the times.

Crashes are beyond my level of understanding but it needs analysis of your log files. Sometimes there is no ‘reason’, often it’s a plugin misbehaving or a large number of database changes all at once. As for accessing your instance outside the home, this is going to depend on a lot of different things and how comfortable you are with respect to security etc. and the upkeep of it all. Questions for you will be, what will you be using to access it outside of your home? iOS apps, android apps or just a web browser? What kind of internet router do you have at home? Is it one supplied by your ISP or something you’ve purchased yourself? Personally I would enable HTTPS and also obtain a signed certificate (free version are available). HTTP will work but then you’re open to other people snooping on your traffic and obtaining your account passwords. You'll also need to harden all your passwords and change the settings so they aren’t displayed. I would change the HTTPS port, if you’re lucky you may be able to use the built in emby port mapper which will configure your internet router for you. If not you will need to do this yourself. You also need to check to make sure your internet provider hasn’t put you behind a NAT…it’s get complicated lol But have a thanks about the questions I’ve posed first.
