The server has native support for youtube now where emby apps will use the youtube sdk on the client device and play the YT video in a google-approved way. You may want to consider updating your plugin to do that instead.

After making the setting changes, nothing seems to have changed with respect to memory usage by Emby on the Synology platform. Within 6hours of restarting the server with cache reduced to 128MB, library scan changed to 12hours (instead of 8 hours as recommended), and doing only individual library scans when new media is added, memory usage is sitting at 1.2GB as per the norm. No sudden spikes in memory usage. So that is good so far. And here is I went off script. I reinstalled several of the plugins that Luke asked to be uninstalled. Yesterday, I reinstalled TimelordTV, TimeLord Movies, and Statistics. I had library updates I was doing that required them. After doing so, the memory utilization did not change. Within 24hours, Emby was utilizing around 900MB to 1GB of memory as per the norm. This morning, I accidentally manually ran the scheduled library scan task after I added new media to my library instead of scanning the individual library. Whoops! Old habits die hard. Emby's memory utilization almost doubled immediately. This time Emby did release the memory before shutting down. I captured the memory jump with the script running. Unfortunately, I don't have the full history from server restart to the memory jump as my PC went to sleep at some point last night and shutdown the puTTy connection. I restarted the script when I woke up this morning about 20minutes before the memory utilization jumped. Whether or not it is of use? I have no idea. But I'm providing it anyway. Library scan started at around 8:54am. I'll shutdown the potentially "problematic" plugins again later tonight and continue monitoring with the script enabled. Are you just hitting the Home button when exiting? What happens if you use the Exit command within the app?

Hi, no they do not. All of the same audio formats are supported as with a music library.

Hi All! just to update you. I resolved it! I reordered my metadata markers so TMDB was at the top with TVDB second and then had to go and refresh the metadata in each series and rescan. This worked so all sorted. Thanks for all offering advise around this

Just a quick follow-up. I tried the Android (non Android TV) app on both of my Shield TVs, and AC3/DTS sound does work with that app where with the updated Android TV app those codecs no longer work. They did work perfectly fine for years and years and just prior to the update last week with the same configuration in Emby and hardware.

Unfortuinatelly i cannot install APK. it is being blocked even if i allow apk install in the settings. seems it has to be play store only for my phone.

Sounds like something mentioned a few years ago. Don't think this is a problem with the old app.

The question has often popped up why is IPTV so popular and the common consensus is that everything is in one place, navigation to find what you want dead easy because the UI interface was designed by competent coders. But since live TV is basically dead except for sports we all navigate what we want in our own ways. For the World Cup Fox's pundits and coverage is terrible compared to ITVX or even the BBC who never send someone to the US. Will I reward Fox for their dismal coverage of the World Cup? Don't think so.

Had tried that before but it didn't work, did it again just now and still no. Same result - it will log in to the Emby Connect but only show the icon for the server and when clicking it I get the "Unable to Reach Server" error: "We're unable to connect to the elected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again."

I have longtime accounts for getting content at closed communities and can get any content that I want for free and could use Emby for organization and playback of it. However I have settled for a happy medium. There is content that is not readily available or spread among multiple services because it is done in other countries like Australia and New Zealand or the UK. In addition there are niche sites that offer content that is not available anywhere else. From those sites the content I like I get via ways that I have done so for decades, In addition I have subscribed to a few streaming accounts that I like because of its content and available sports. I subscribed to Apple TV+ because of F1 and it has excellent SciFi and premier content to boot. I also have Netflix now for as long as I can remember plus will evaluate Paramount+, Peacock, ESPN+ at the next yearly renewal. I agree that the network suits don't care as long as the bottom line flatters the investors. Firefly anyone? The pilot had to be rewritten in days because the suits didn't like it and cause massive confusion among viewers until about 3 episodes in when the original pilot aired. If this is how they deal with content creators, the consumers have no chance at all.
