@alex77777 Hey, thanks for your help. I tried it, including restarting the Apple TV after making the change. Dolby Vision still looks significantly worse in Emby; the colors appear dull and lifeless. In a direct comparison of the same scene, nothing has changed. I connected the Apple TV directly to the TV for testing (previously it was connected via the receiver). No change. In Infuse, the picture is much more colorful and not dull. @ebrThe format is EAC3 7.1. I also have it in TRUEHD 7.1 and AC3 5.1. In Infuse, the images are significantly more colorful and have higher contrast.

Yeah, I think the "using the keyboard arrows" is a better workaround than using rdp Just did the test, I can confirm this issue using emby theater 3.0.20 on my local server running 4.9.3.0. (same issue connecting to the beta 4.10.0.5 server, this is of course a client issue)

This is not strictly correct as, I strongly suspect the reason you are seeing this is due to the audio format (probably TrueHD or DTSHD).

I am setting up a Ubuntu server, as I want to potentially move my Emby library from Windows to Ubuntu. I have Emby installed, and when I login it says: Sign in to Media Server1 However that is not the name I gave the emby server: its just called emby-test Nor is it the hostname of the Ubuntu server: root@ubuntu-test:/opt/emby-server# hostname ubuntu-test Can someone advise what config file this line of text is generated from: Sign in to Media Server1 All my hostname and emby server name are lower case, and this link has "Media Server" with capital letters so I know its not coming from the \etc\hostname or the emby server name setting in the dashboard.

That is the point of the new dynamic media in 4.10.x.x. Home Screen settings add a new view select Dynamic Media, then content type, then the libraries you want, and set the genre you want.

Is there a way to view all the genres on the server, rather than just within a specific library? I'd like to be able to pick a genre and see both owned movies and recorded movies that have that genre, but the only way to do that as far as I can see is to go to one of those two libraries, click Genres, go to the genre I want, click on a movie within that genre, scroll down to the list of genres at the bottom, and click that genre there. Which is a lot of clicks.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there are any plans to update the Emby app on Android TV.

Would be really cool if we could combine different types of sources. For example, everything on a Trakt list that hasn't been watched in the past month.

Just so you know, I also got rid of all the plugins and now I'm just using the basic stuff that came with the beta, which fixed everything except for that recording aspect ratio issue.

Like I said before, this happens no matter what client I use. It's a server issue that's been happening since the new beta came out and it's never been fixed. As a media server, playing content should always be the top priority, whether it's streaming or recording. That should be the core of a media server. Other features are nice, but if the basics are broken and not fixed, then the whole project is a bust. So please, actually look into this and don't just say you will!

Actually, what i would suggest you look into is using a large list from MDBList to match against. There are list with 1500+ christmas movies available, and by using this the chances are pretty good your own christmas movies is on this list. EDIT: Oh, i see you wanted episodes... Still, might be worth checking out!

It should use that, yes. And if there isn't one, then it will just create a thumbnail from the video content.

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I guess i can try to get filter for overview in there aswell. Not sure how many users gonna be using it, but hey - more is more! If you hit the NOT at the left (red) it will reverse the filter. So this will give every movie that does NOT contain "Batman". My idea was to have movie and series name. But looking at the code it currently seems to be matching against movie names and episode names. This plugin is heavily vibe coded (coded with AI), and this was not my intention. For me Title is the movie name, or the name of the series, ex Band of Brothers. Pls argue with me if you think otherwise! EDIT: But when testing a bit more with the Title filter it seems to be doing what i wanted.. Hmm, my AI might be drunk.. Anyway, I'll look into it a bit more. I was about to release an update tonight with small improvements and bug fixes, but I'm gonna give you a new filter for matching against overview, and fix the Title filter according to my initial intention. I will also add another filter for "Title (episode)" And for your use case @shinedouif you are matching against an episode name with "Christmas", it should be enough to have one episode of Grey's Anatomy be named something with Christmas, but you will still get Grey's Anatomy on your christmas list with 465 episode that has nothing to do with Christmas. But i guess you know that already If all goes well i might still release v3.1.2.0 tonight, or it will be closer to the end of the weekend.

I have a problem that when almost all sound gets transcoded it causes buffering on most clients. Update to the weirdness...... I was able to view the antenna channels thru the HD Homerun app while we were on our home network. Our wifi was up the whole time. The channels worked fine. 3 hours after logging this issue, my wife tried Emby on our TV & everything was up & running again. So, I'm going to scour thru Event Viewer to see if anything jumps out. Is it possible that a background task is taking a long time to complete? I can't make sense of how this comes & goes.

RDP mitigates the problem here, as well.... but should not be considered a solution.

@ Luke, Ja ich finde das super Sind jetzt schon drei wochen @sh0rty, Ja T-kom ich weiß aber trotzdem nicht wieso ich dieses mal so lange eine IP Adresse habe. Im Januar habe ich Jellyfin getestet und da wurde die IP Adresse spätestens am 3. Tag geändert. Ich komme mit den ganzen "Portkram" nicht so recht klar. Ich möchte aber auch keinen Proxy Server über Synology das dauert denke ich mal sehr lange mit den verbinden ... Ja genau deshalb hab ich mir bei no ip diese ddns... erstellt. nur weiß ich jetzt nicht weiter ganz ehrlich. Ich habe die Synology erst ein gutes halbes Jahr. Am WE werde ich mal Chat GPT ausprobieren was da so zu machen ist. LG Alex

Yeah, just to show support adding the feature is fine, but breaking the old one means people will need to" go find all the folders where the .ignore files used to be navigate one level up, and then create a new file, and copy the path of the old ignore file repeat for every folder where they have ignore files. this is tedious. all with no real heads up about the change, and most of us probably already tried to replace our .ignores with .embyignores with a * in the file. kind of a bad UX decision, IMO
