Fixed it by removing the "(Optional) Shared network folder" in the Recordings library settings in Emby.... Now, ComSkipper.dll uses the container filesystem path instead of the smb path. Info Com Skipper: EDL file /data/pvr/recordings/Recording 2026_03_30_09_00_00.edl found. Now, I'm waiting to see what that change broke

So I am assuming Dolby Vision doesn't work on the fire tv Emby app. The Emby Android App falls back to HDR and the Emby Android TV app just shows a black screen. My tv shows me if dolby vision or if hdr is playing. Its not a fire tv issues because I have tested the same files on Plex and everything is working. But I dont want to use Plex lol Any ideals to fix this issue is much appreciated.

Beta versions have a large update with custom home page features. Changing the look and adding many features to a media server or any website is challenging, takes much more effort, than many people think and can be detrimental and kill popularity, if not done carefully. Many software products have lost marketshare from adding too many bells and whistles. Some audio / video types are sort of protected by license limitations and software policies must follow many rules to even get permission to post a download with Google or Apple. After removing prior docker container and creating a new one, I can't log in locally. I have 2 emby instances running at home on 2 different servers so I had to use a custom port 8097/8921 for this one. Haven't had issues before but now I can't log in. I've disabled my server fw to no avail. Tried restarting server, different installs, etc. All come back with same error message. Logs attached but don't really show much. I'm at a loss. Yes that hard do to 1 / 2 unit servers usually only hold 4 X 3.5 drives. I reused an old tower gaming pc with 8 slots + a possible expansion of 4 extra drives in the 3 5.25 slots above Then flipped it on its side, now it only takes up the space of a 4 u rack enclosure. You may need to check your router for security settings. We have had instances in the past where routers or other security software have blocked communications from devices like a Fire TV to other devices on your local network.

Please do this: Send the log right after the successful login. To be sure you can do this multiple times (because you have to turn on the debug option) set your login behavior to show login screen the first time you are in. Do you have a proxy of any sort? My suspicion is something is interfering with the app communication to the server.

Hello, Indeed, I’d like to release version 1.0 before publishing the project on GitHub. There’s still quite a bit of work to do, and I prefer not to rush things, even though I’m already spending around 4 to 10 hours a day on it. For now, I’m starting to talk about it in various places to introduce Mediakeeper, and also to invite people to join a brand-new Discord server. The goal is to discuss the project and gather feedback on needs that existing solutions don’t cover, or don’t handle well.

I still like the smart playlist approach for this. But playlists need a little more polish to really work well. Playlists need the ability to “subscribe” to new episodes from one or more shows. So when new episodes air, they are auto added. Playlists also need better filtering so watched episodes can be hidden. This helps for very long running crossovers or multi-show universes to help get to the next unplayed. Playlists can already sort by air date, so this can be kind of achieved with a manual playlist. Then when playing an episode directly from the playlist, whatever crossover-possible episode aired next will play next.

Yeah, I can see that they use their own sources for the metadata but both apps do allow the import of IMDB watchlists under settings>import lists. These are IP based certificates which eliminate the need for domains. I should rephrase: They eliminate the requirement of a domain name. Domain names still good but not needed.
