Getting a dump file and the associated Emby Windows app log files for one of these 2.310.2.0 crashes may help find the cause For the stable release from the MS Store, the logs should be here %LocalAppData%\Packages\EmbyMedia.EmbyTheater_svmepx4c03f7m\LocalCache\logs But suggest first you try and enable the windows option for getting dump files for these crashes You can use RegEdit to do that and then one enabled, the Emby app dmp files will be in this folder %LocalAppData%\CrashDumps Use the Windows Registry Editor to configure Windows Error Reporting: - Open Registry Editor: Press "Win + R", type "regedit"regedit, and hit Enter. - Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting" - If there is a "LocalDumps" key below this then proceed to Configure Dump Settings, otherwise: - Create the "LocalDumps" Key: - Right-click on the "Windows Error Reporting" folder, select New > Key, and name it: LocalDumps. - Configure Dump Settings: - Right-Click on the LocalDumps key, - New > Key and name it: Emby.Client.WinUI.exe - Then Right-Click on the Emby.Client.WinUI.exe key - New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it: DumpCount - Set the value to 3 (only last 3 dumps will be kept) - And again Right-Click on the Emby.Client.WinUI.exe key - Select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it: DumpType - Set the value to 2 The value of 2 for the DumpType will result in full dumps - change it to 1 after dumps are obtained. This will then switch to minidumps. Once you have a dump file and located the related app log files, let me know and I will send you an upload link

@Luke@ebr- I just don't understand: when a music library is set not to download anything other than embedded metadata for an album, why would reaching out to Musicbrainz for artist info (or a track having an embedded Musicbrainz id for any reason at all) overwrite track/album metadata, or in fact any embedded metadata at all? Everywhere in Emby, shouldn't the order of priority should be 1. user-embedded metadata, 2. externally retrieved metadata based on rules selected in library config screen? The Music Library configuration screen allows sorting of priority of all the external metadata and image retrievals. Why couldn't/shouldn't the first one just be "user-embedded metadata"? Am I still not clear on how Emby works, or why are things not implemented this way? And I am afraid you are wrong about the scanners/fetchers. I just did a scan with every single fetcher turned off and still Emby somehow pulled in - and overwrote with - MusicBrainz ID and year data for the albums, when none of the individual music files have a musicbrainz id, before or after import/scan. What the heck is going on?! On most screens our apps will already do this. If they're looking for a thumb and one isn't there, usually they'll check if you have a backdrop and fallback to that.

Tengo instaladas las aplicaciones Emby, Plex y Jellyfin en un television Samsung de 2021 y salvo alguna tonteria no tengo queja, no asi con las de Microsoft store, que me dieron muchisimos problemas. Ah, para usar DTS da igual cual sea, incluso un reproductor fuera de la store de windows le daria esa funcion. Un saludo. My FR thread was closed and directed here, but mine isn't exactly the same. I don't just want to be ble to use a backdrop as a thumb, because there are many cases where there is no backdrop with text available either - i want Emby or a plugin to automatically make a thumb from a backdrop + logo if there is no thumb available

That will popup every 45 days but only if using the beta of the app on Google. Amazon production version has it.

Don't think that's it; it works fine with two simultaneous streams but at any rate I have hls-proxy set up as the intermediary and it strictly enforces the connection limit (since I noticed Emby struggles with that). But I did change this setting and no dice; as I think we've seen the problem is it's trying and failing to transcode for this particular TV. Any other ideas welcome, but sounds like maybe this just isn't going to work with this particular Roku TV? I am confused about why the transcode isn't keeping up for this one, if that is the problem based on the logs, when it is transcoding the same stream to basically the same format just fine for the other tv (i.e. it doesn't seem like this is a processing power issue to me).

However for anyone in the future who needs to change it back to C:\ it can be found in the registry at: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders (double-click APPDATA) Microsoft recommends NOT changing this from the default. I think updating to force it to be supported will break some devices, and given the quick turnaround to iOS 26.6 it is probably best to wait.

In fact, for searching in external databases, you can use the "originaltitle" as a search key. There is a better chance of a match than searching by the translated name, of which there may be several. [originaltitle] + [release date] => [dbid] => [user preffered language] => localized item info

Yes, I know on other platforms (like Kodi) it's referred to as "landscape", but Emby calls it thumb for some reason. I'm not the one making this word up. I'm calling it thumb, backdrop and logo because that's what Emby calls it, rather than landscape, fanart and clearlogo. I know these are the same. The request/suggestion is still the same, generate a thumb/landscape using the backdrop/fanart and logo/clearlogo.

So a more accurate description of the issue is that it's difficult to move items within a playlist using the grab handles available. The UX doesn't really make it clear that it's ready to be dragged, and long pressing on the grab handles doesn't maintain that action either, so you have a very short window to actually grab and move the item around. The OP read more like there were no grab handles at all.
