Uh, maybe. Any more info on your environment?

I see two, both of them apparently abandoned. And it would require a redundant collection being created; bypassing that was a big part of the appeal of your plugin. That's still one or two euros more than nothing, and having to create everything in MDBList. Or Trakt, were I to use that. Whereas Emby already knows which movies I own, what language they're in, when they were released, how long they are, who directed them, who starred in them, what genres they are, what their RT and IMDB community ratings are... I mean, a lot of this is just that from hearing about your plugin I expected it to be one thing and it turns out to be a different thing, and as I said I'm still getting some decent mileage out of the Trakt lists for Trending or Best Picture nominees or whatever. It's just frustrating to have come in expecting to be able to quickly whip up a film noir tag, or a horror tag, or a directed-by-David-Lynch tag, or whatever else, without having to recreate my database on another platform. With the subgenres I've been manually adding I could even do things like locked-door murder mysteries the week the new Knives Out drops, things like that.

Yeah I initially had mine set up the same way, it works well, the only issues you may face is if you lose connection to your NAS it wont remount automatically. I utilize the shortcut app script to remount automatically if connection is lost, you can do the same thing with SMB if you wanted to, it can be tricky to not have it throw errors and get stuck. I know there are other methods as well to do this but they are not as easy/have their own issues.

Ultro, Sure, your choice. I understand you would like Emby to work best with your setup and getting that done is a valid request. Does anyone get graphic subs to playback directly? I don't use those. If the graphic subs force an Emby transcoding, then it's your server that has to do it. Your comment says it's not beefy enough for 4K. So, hopefully, direct playback is possible. I was under the impression that graphic subs usually force a transcode. It takes about 30 seconds to 2 minutes to get the subs and make a new version media, without subs, for each 4K 2 hour video. It's not a transcoding level event. Of interest, is that all commerical streaming sites have already done this for all their content. They all do that automatically using some custom script.

Thanks for the reply, but this has been going on for over a year where the server would show there is an update but you log into the truenas dashboard and no update there or there is an update but doesn't match the version shown in the emby server dashboard. it's very annoying to say the least that is for sure. i have no idea why they pushed out a beta version to the stable release on truenas anyways and make everyone switch to the beta.. Thant to me seems very very unprofessional at the least

I'm working on seeing if I can fix it ATM. Together with some other enhancements like the bars people have requested. Can't promise anything though.

I have Emby runnung on 192.168.30.35:9096 but on the dashboard it states that the server is available @ 172.16.1.2, I am not using the 172.16.1.1 subnet and I’m not allowed remote traffic to it. How or why would this be happening. I have also found in the log that the server friendly name is _secretl_ also something I didn’t setup or name. My media files are being tampered with. Can the 10.0.0.0/8 and 172.16.0.0/16 be blocked from emby?

Unable to play MP3 files / constant crashes during audio playback
hallansen replied to hallansen's topic in Android Server
Hello, a small update. I tried playing mp3-Files from the Shied on my iPad and iPhone today. Absolutely nothing happens. You can see the login screen on the dashboard, and that's it. No sound, no reaction. Even the app on the iPhone freezes. Videos and images work without any problems. I have no idea if anything will show up in the log files. You should try it yourselves with an Android server. Unfortunately, this remains an unacceptable situation. embyserver.txt embyserver-63907801905.txt hardware_detection-63907801822.txt hardware_detection-63907801918.txt readme.txt -
TariqK started following Issue with Emby Videos Not Playing on Apple TV
-
I’m not at my computer to take a full log but I have noticed this issue since the last update with the AppleTV playing AV1 videos. Sometimes the video fails to play entirely, sometimes only the video doesn’t play properly but the audio is fine.

Thanks, but if it doesn't affect initial/first icon placement (in respect to poster edges) but only spacing between them - not much. Still, thanks for the effort.

Xtream Tuner — turn your IPTV subscription into a full Emby Live TV
Firestaerter posted a topic in Plugins
I've been building a plugin that connects any Xtream-compatible IPTV subscription directly to Emby as a first-class citizen — Live TV with a proper guide, *and* your VOD content as a native movie and series library. Just one DLL, no extra dependencies. What you get - IPTV movies as a real Emby library — synced as STRM files with full metadata, posters, and ratings matched via TMDB. Emby treats them exactly like local files. - IPTV series with proper episode structure — seasons and episodes organised as Show Name / Season 01 / S01E01, matched against TVDb and TMDB for automatic metadata. - Flexible folder organisation — one flat library, per-category folders, or a fully custom mapping for both movies and series. - Category filtering and name cleaning — pick exactly which content to include, and strip provider tags like |UK| or |FR| from titles automatically. Extra for Dispatcharr users (https://github.com/Dispatcharr/Dispatcharr) Fast channel switching — the plugin reads stream stats pre-populated by Streamflow and passes codec and resolution info directly to Emby, suppressing the stream probe entirely. Channels open immediately with no black-screen delay. Graceful fallback — if Dispatcharr is unreachable, the plugin automatically falls back to direct Xtream URLs so playback keeps working. Setup Drop the DLL into your plugins folder, restart Emby, enter your Xtream server URL and credentials, pick your channel categories, and you're done. The plugin handles the rest — initial sync, incremental updates, duplicate detection across categories, and cleanup of removed content. Updates The plugin checks for new releases automatically and shows a banner when one is available. There's a beta channel in the config if you want updates earlier. Releases and docs: https://github.com/firestaerter3/emby-xtream Happy to answer questions — and if something doesn't work with your provider, bug reports are very welcome. -
@GrimReaper I have added a setting for controlling the icon spacing that was hardcoded before. This is the best i can do for now. Controlling the x and y for icons will be complicated as the plugin is using % of poster and icons to make them actually fit properly on the posters. Hopefully this will at least forfil your request just a little. It will be part of the next release.

How to remove all fanart, add own and keep new from downloading?
MediaIntelNUC replied to MediaIntelNUC's topic in General/Windows
Hi @Apotropaic Thanx for your reply! My thought was to erase existing, replace with my own and make my server not download any. Im guessing that just disableing the download option in library settings does that. By using the PNG:s i got, and somehow rename them to fanart1,fanart2 etc..CLI is a good idea, thanx! Yeah, there is a Bulky Media Editor plugin that ill check out. Thanx! -
No Trailers on Samsung TV app - taking ages for release still on 2.2.5
vicviper replied to Robnaeyaert's topic in Samsung Smart TV
In the meantime the company I'm working for has managed to submit and release several updates to a Samsung Smart TV app with a usual turnaround of 3-4 business days. Most of the process is actually automated, even more so if you have successfully submitted apps before and this is just an incremental update with no elevated system requirements. I'm pretty sure you are doing something wrong if it takes them months to approve an app update, I've personally never experienced delays like this. -

I was just listening to my playlist and wondering which song was currently playing. Can you spot it? It would be nice if this would be much clearer, for example: Also the white animated gif is very unclear. Perhaps adding some (black) borders around the bars or turning it into a svg with transitions so it can be changed during runtime?

@LukeThe only connection issue is trying to determine what domains I can bypass via split tunnel related to guide data. As noted in previous posts, if the VPN is off there's never an issue. If the VPN is on, its a mixed bag. The only other possible options is change the VPN location to see if specific locations have an issue and others don't. The only extreme alternative is schedule a guide pull at a specific hour and shut down the vpn during that timeframe. That we know works 100% of the time. Update: Also, the issue appears to be that it works for a period of time then starts to fail. Example: Sometime this morning my VPN connection shut down which allows traffic w/o it. I don't have a block on internet traffic is the vpn shuts down. Around 5:30AM this morning a guide refresh was successful. When I turned the vpn back on (no changes) and rerun the guide refresh, no issues. We'll see how long before a failure of the refresh starts.

How to remove all fanart, add own and keep new from downloading?
Apotropaic replied to MediaIntelNUC's topic in General/Windows
Hi there, are you worried about fanart being overridden or emby adding additional fanart once you’ve customised it? This shouldn’t happen, there’s an option in your library ‘After the initial import, automatically refresh metadata from the internet’ - set that to never which I believe is the default. But if you’re just interested in replacing fanart, how are you planning on adding your own fanart? If you’re going to move them into the folders manually then you could just mass delete using whatever CLI you have available on your OS. Add your new ones in and then rescan your library. If you have correctly named fanart emby should not try to download any more. If you’re going to manually edit each item in the GUI then you might as well just delete them there when you’re adding. There used to be an Emby Media Manager tool I used to use years ago, no idea if that’s still maintained but you should find info by searching the forum.
