I've been trying to get Music Videos going but I'm running into an issue with (at least imvdb) where identification is successful, but most data is missing. My file "Caravan Palace - Moonshine.mp4" with artist "Caravan Palace" and title "Moonshine" is correctly identified as imvdb id 103953927269 (https://imvdb.com/video/caravan-palace/suzy). A lot of fields however are still empty, like artist, are empty which makes the "Artist" tab on the Music Video library kind of redundant. Is there a reason why fields like artist aren't added/updated after identification / refreshing metadata?

Yeah I figured as much. Kind of suprising because other platforms (obviously the big ones like YT and Spotify) didn't have this issue for me. Perhaps they implemented a workaround?

They do have one, but unfortunately it’s accessible to subscribers only. The stable server version in the repo is now 4.9.1.90 while version 4.9.3 was released over a month ago. Is the repo not updated frequently?

I've been experimenting with Kodi for a few weeks. I'm running E4KNG (latest release) on CoreELEC. Is there a trick to get Emby "Sort by Names" to take on Kodi? A few examples... Star Trek OG Boxset sorts as I've set it in Emby. But in Kodi, it's last after the Alternate Universe and The Next Gen. Then there's issues within the Boxsets themselves. I have Rogue One and Solo first before Ep.I. But in Kodi, it insists on sorting by chronological order (ie Ep.IV is first). Same with Superman (Richard Donner SM II version is last). Sure its easy to go into each Boxset and change them in Kodi manually. But thats a pain when I have 5 devices and multiple profiles on each. Not to mention all of my family who I will get to move to Emby for Kodi. I've reset my local database, uninstalled E4KNG and everything. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Thanks!

I find that the folder names are not clean (ie. 4K-A+ - before the show name) despite the clean option being enabled. If I change the server URL various check boxes become unchecked, if i check them again it gives me an error of 'failed to save configuration'. The dashboard also says 'Xtream: Not configured' despite the fact I was able to sync after I changed the server URL

This is awesome.. Why is this not in the Emby catalog of plugin:s?

thx @alex77777 yes they are all up to date to latest (i only moved to emby from plex this week). also tried rebooting and wifi vs LAN and all result in the same freezes

Yeah, I hate this so much. Because of this and the new folder view, I downgraded to 4.8.11. I don’t understand why Emby keeps messing with the way things used to work.

Having a heck of a time getting Emby running on a DXP2800. I installed Emby (the Linux edition) without using Docker. I have been able to create libraries under a main "Media" shared folder. Emby seems unable to get file permission to access any of these files. It makes no difference whether I have transcoding on or not. I get the "No compatible streams available" error code. For instance, when trying to play the 2 Guns.mkv file the log says "/volume2/Media/Movies/2 Guns/2Guns.mkv: Permission denied". All the users have read/write access to the Media folder and all subfolders and files from with ugos. All the existing users are in a group I created and the group has all the permissions to read/write as well. Still, no joy getting it to play or get any new metadata. I no longer know what else to do. The files and folders themselves when listed on Linux show the file owner to be one of my administrators and the group to be the one I created in ugos. They have 777 permissions. What am I missing here? Is there something special I must do when creating an Emby user from within Emby?

I would check to make sure your emby app and TVos is up to date. I have a feeling that its some type of network related issue. Either a bad connection or maybe router/modem need to be restarted. Ive had issue with an LG TV in the past similar to how your having issues and all I had to do was restart the router to reestablish a connection. Ive had countless issues with Xfinity routers/modems, they seem to randomly cap the internal network speed randomly and you have to restart it (so if you have one of those it can be the problem). If your devices are wired I would suggest unplugging the ethernet from them, waiting 30 seconds and plugging it back in.

Hi - I'm having issues getting any play back to work with the emby app for Nvidia shield. I have tried both app emby and emby for Android TV. My emby works fine from my phone and or laptop. I get the premiere device limit exceeded. Please contact your emby system administrator. I cannot pay to unlock the app anymore, there is no option. Can anyone help me out to get the app to work on the shield? Thanks!

Assuming CoverArt hasn't changed since last i used it. EmbyIcons allows for more customizations for where and how the overlays should be shown. Overlays for TV shows, like showing for example german subtitles if all episodes in a TV show has those subtitles. Also gives more icons types and is more customizable. CoverArt is an absolute great plugin and is very close to install and just use. EmbyIcons requires a bit of tinkering after install as it's settings and possibilities are more comprehensive. Please note: While EmbyIcons doesn't require a huge CPU or anything like that it still requires a fairly modern CPU if enabling all features.
