Ok, thanks. This is a Google Doc that describes features. Is there a website? Is this a service? Is this supposed to be a plugin? I guess what problem does this thing solve? I promise you I'm not and idiot and not discounting your need or want for this on Wednesday evenings. I have been using NextPVR forever so I I don't know what need this fills. Maybe I should open a separate thread?

Without being able to look at an example, it's hard to say. It could have been due to an option that was configured that has now been reset to default.

Now it just needs a user base of more than one...

Emby for Android is a direct substitute for Emby for Android TV. Both run on Android TV. There used a be a time when true Android TV devices were rare and most TV boxes ran mobile Android with a different launcher. That isn't the case anymore as most TV streamers run Android TV/Google TV now. I think one of the main reasons Emby is moving towards a Universal (mobile/TV) app, is due to different Play Store review requirements for Android TV apps. They must pass compatibility test suite checks, and meet certain UI and hardware requirements.

I had it running a few weeks ago. Needed just a small set of adaptions.

I know it's been a long time I'm so busy this year! Well anyhow I *think* I solved this problem by uninstalling the emby app and re-installing it. If that is the fix may i ask how / why? is there something wrong with my roku?

So Android TV is leading the real world and the Emby world, but it's slated to be replaced by Emby mgmt? Am I missing something here?

@Mangopulp Hey I'm glad you noticed & like them. I created them on gimp & hunted for matching images with transparent backgrounds then layered with the emby logo. When I get some time I will post a topic for it with my gimp template I use along with what images I already created. I tried to keep a green theme with them since emby's logo is green.

I just sent a log from my Roku exactly what I was doing Trying to play S01E01 of Lucky (2026). it would just spin the loading screen and then eventually got the prompt that there's no compatible streams and to contact my administrator. log was sent at 5:07 est user was Billy

I tried a little experiment today. I've been using the regular Android application for many years now, but I thought that I'll give the Android TV application a try again. And... It plays the very same audio streams... (on the same device, Shield TV Pro 2019, using the same server, and therefore, the only variable is the Emby client) Here we go. The Android application has a bug. As I said, I can make the file available for your testing.

Did you ever find the answer? are you using multiple pages or multiple tabs? i have hit the same problem in the past as well, but without understanding why, and none the wiser how the problem went away. i dont undersand in a multitab environment why 1 tab becomes the default tab, its not the 1st tab..possibly the last tab or a tab with "config" in its name, that always seems ?magically? become the primary tab when entering from the plugins page.

Bet for EU this would have Android way at top followed by Samsung.

Change the json location. Rename the folder. And run a restore task. Check the result.

I have stopped hoping for any change in the status of TVNext ever being released after I realized that Emby management holds Live TV (and it's users) in very low regard. @ebreven stated, earlier in this thread, TVNext was completed years ago, but was not implemented and now it needs to be re-done because it's not compatible with the current version of Emby. A totally wasted product!

I’m having the same problem with Shield TV using v3.5.36. Android TV app doesn’t have problem.

We actually have 2 phones where this issue is happening. We're trying to check with my wife's iPhone currently, but she is away on vacation and essentially a Boomer when it comes to anything technological.

I defer to men/women/it/they/him/her//\\up/down\left/right people at this stage. Maybe try a different Android device?

I assume there are JSON backups, I have that enabled and it ran a backup overnight.

welp, sorry for the fire drill I'm not sure how this happened but today all seems good again. PS: I love what you guys do, hopefully the Android TV app doesn't go away...

My server actually runs on a Windows 11 laptop. It has read/write access to all of the associated drives. I check on the Samsung device and emby is allowed to download onto local storage, so I don't believe that is what could be the issue. I can even see the files appear on the phone when the server says they're transferred, and if I am quick enough, I can start one playing on the phone through emby before it vanishes.
