Started having problems watching my PVR and saved videos on Roku
speechles replied to AmericanMike's topic in Roku
Stream #0:1[0x101]: Audio: aac (HE-AAC) ([15][0][0][0] / 0x000F), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 96 kb/s, Start-Time 1.400s It's that Audio issue I need help with @LukeLook at the Roku issue tracker for #1756 and need some help there from you. Thanks. It is the AAC "Main" codec using an ADTS stream. https://wiki.multimedia.cx/index.php/Understanding_AAC Maybe it is Ffmpeg that needs help understanding how to read it correctly? -

I would check to make sure your emby app and TVos is up to date. I have a feeling that its some type of network related issue. Either a bad connection or maybe router/modem need to be restarted. Ive had issue with an LG TV in the past similar to how your having issues and all I had to do was restart the router to reestablish a connection. Ive had countless issues with Xfinity routers/modems, they seem to randomly cap the internal network speed randomly and you have to restart it (so if you have one of those it can be the problem). If your devices are wired I would suggest unplugging the ethernet from them, waiting 30 seconds and plugging it back in. -

bengineer10 started following Nvidia Shield Emby App
-
Hi - I'm having issues getting any play back to work with the emby app for Nvidia shield. I have tried both app emby and emby for Android TV. My emby works fine from my phone and or laptop. I get the premiere device limit exceeded. Please contact your emby system administrator. I cannot pay to unlock the app anymore, there is no option. Can anyone help me out to get the app to work on the shield? Thanks!

Assuming CoverArt hasn't changed since last i used it. EmbyIcons allows for more customizations for where and how the overlays should be shown. Overlays for TV shows, like showing for example german subtitles if all episodes in a TV show has those subtitles. Also gives more icons types and is more customizable. CoverArt is an absolute great plugin and is very close to install and just use. EmbyIcons requires a bit of tinkering after install as it's settings and possibilities are more comprehensive. Please note: While EmbyIcons doesn't require a huge CPU or anything like that it still requires a fairly modern CPU if enabling all features.

Fire Stick TV 4K MAX DTS-HD MA (DTS:X) pass-through is not working

Try un-checking the DTS-HD one. - Today

BTW...it is still happening. For example, yesterday scheduled recording of 30min news broadcast at 5:30pm recorded fine. Another scheduled 30 min news broadcast at 10pm only recorded for 2mins. I am wondering; Is it possible that the rate of the download stream is being reduced (due to network traffic or IP Provider throttling) causing Emby to think the stream has dropped? Is there any thought of changing the Emby recording algorithm to have it reconnect immediately if the stream is interrupted. Even if there were interruptions in the recording at least it would be 'more' complete. Thanks for your persistence on this.

Not the app, but the TV. Take the TV for what it is: a dumb monitor. Everything with and on the TV is a non-free locked-down walled garden. Don't settle for that crap - every China-stick for 20 bucks is light years ahead, you don't need the gold standard "Shield". TV'S and especially LG won't even manage to send multichannel PCM over EARC. I wrote about 50 E-Mails to all levels of support in the last years - they don't give a shit! If you need true HD, the Fire or Raspberry does it without problems.

Fire Stick TV 4K MAX DTS-HD MA (DTS:X) pass-through is not working

Is there an option in the settings in that app of whether or not to pass-thru DTS-HD? -
Iconic: You can add custom icons/images (and now tailor their placement if inclined to do so), works on Mixed content-type libraries CoverArt: sub/audio choices/selections are more granular Generally, some more scenarios are covered that are not feasible in CoverArt and/or Iconic.

Sorry for the slow response. It seems the right architecture for this model is arm7. All other version failed to install except (and it works well). Thanks -

For the batch conversion part, there's standalone software that can help you out, but you will have to learn it and more or less keep track of your progress yourself. If you are happy to work in the Emby environment, you could just install a second Emby on that powerful machine, add the same folders to a library in there, and let it convert all the stuff you want. No need to set everything up, just the relevant library part really. After that the original Emby server should be able to pick up those new versions.

geomusicmaker started following Philips Titan OS image quality
-
I recently purchased a Philips Titan OS TV and was relieved to find it had its own emby app. I wasn't able to connect locally but managed to get on via https. I dont know if it's just me, but the quality of the image seems quite reduced (compared to a firestick on the same display) and the audio on some films refuses to play. Could this be because the app is just a browser wrapper and only has access to whatever codecs/libs the philips TV browser has? The image looks like it's getting the bitrate throttled (like a blocky h264) but the emby server says its direct play HEVC. Anyone else experienced something similar? Do the emby team have any thoughts/suggestions on this? I'm sticking with my firestick for now but it would be great for the titan app to be improved if possible. P.S.Out of curiosity, is the LG TV app a web wrapper too or is it proprietary? That works really well.

Hi SamES, I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding regarding how the Nvidia Shield TV Pro operates compared to native TV apps like those on LG (webOS) or Samsung (Tizen). While it is true that native TV apps are often limited by the OS and hardware to lossy Dolby Digital Plus (DD+), the Nvidia Shield is a completely different beast. I have my Shield connected to an LG C3 OLED, which then passes the audio via eARC to my Samsung Q990D soundbar. I can confirm that when using the Emby app on the Shield, it correctly performs passthrough for lossless TrueHD (Atmos). My soundbar explicitly displays 'Dolby Atmos' (TrueHD) and not just 'Dolby Digital'. The limitation you mentioned applies to the native LG webOS app—which, in my experience, often struggles with licenses and even downgrades Atmos to basic Dolby Digital (not even Plus) during certain updates. However, claiming that the Shield has the same limitation within the app is incorrect; the Shield is specifically designed to handle these high-definition passthrough formats without conversion, provided the hardware chain (TV eARC and Soundbar) supports it, which mine does perfectly Hi SamES, In addition to everything described above, I would also like to add that, to further clarify, there is a massive performance gap between the Nvidia Shield TV Pro and the native LG webOS app that goes beyond just audio. In my setup (Shield TV Pro -> LG C3 -> Samsung Q990D via eARC), the Shield handles lossless TrueHD (Atmos) perfectly. My soundbar explicitly displays 'Dolby Atmos' (TrueHD), proving that the bitstream passthrough is working exactly as intended. The Shield does NOT convert Atmos to basic Dolby Digital; it is designed specifically to avoid that limitation. On the other hand, the native LG app is a complete disaster. Not only does it often fail to passthrough Atmos (downgrading it to basic Dolby Digital, not even Plus), but it also struggles with Dolby Vision metadata. I’ve noticed that when the LG app encounters certain audio tracks it can't handle, it seems to go into a 'protection mode' or forces a transcode that breaks the video layer. As a result, I often see the TV trigger HDR10 instead of Dolby Vision, which is absurd for a high-end OLED C3. This inconsistency doesn't happen on the Shield. Because the Shield supports Direct Play for both TrueHD and various Dolby Vision profiles, the server doesn't need to touch the file. Everything stays intact. Claiming the Shield app has the same limitations as the LG or Samsung native apps is simply incorrect; the Shield is the only way to actually get the full quality out of a setup like mine.
