For me, the majority of my channels *DO NOT WORK*, so I would be happy to transcode everything. This is just a Roku thing, as the web browser, Android and IPhone app play all of them just fine, but the Roku app just cycles the loading screen. I am to the point where I might just hook up a Chromecast to the TV since the app really does not work for 90% of my channels.

Unforntunately, Embys resources are probably stretched. If it was an easy fix I'm sure they would have done it, even the new app's latest beta still hasnt been pushed to release and it tidies up a few things. If you look hard enough on google you will find a (non-emby) version that works offline and has all dependicies built in that should work ok.

Playing around with different versions of files seems fruitless in the long term given that the issue appears to have been pushed through to us without our involvement. The only things we've heard from Luke about this are variations of "It works for me", or "Try restarting / reinstalling", or "Describe the problem again" We're all used to seeing years of "good idea for the future", but this is not a feature request, it's an app breaking bug that means we've been unable to properly use this version of theater for almost 2 weeks now. It's absolutely not good enough. @Luke are you taking this seriously? Is there any resource allocated to finding a resolution? Can you please engage with the users in this thread and let us know what's happening?

Gotcha! I know there are apps out there with native support for for Emby, jellyfin and Plex, and the layout is different from both Emby apps for Android. With the difference that its a pure videoplayer app but when it comes to my Shield thats all i need. N.

No. Android apps are pretty much locked down. I think there exists custom apps out there but i am not sure.

Hi! Are there any plans to insert some CSS-like ability to the Android and/or Android TV app and not only webb app? Im under the impression that Android TV apps are not as customable as regular android apps, so perhaps the universal android? Thanx!

I'm browsing my library from the web app, and click on play: The file is being played. In case I wait until it ends, I got redirected back and nothing is displayed, until I scroll the page: .. or wait a bit (10 seconds). This is on Firefox 148.0.2 (64-bit), Ubuntu 24.04LTS.

I'm running the latest Emby (4.9.3.0) on Ubuntu server. Hardware transcoding is done by an NVidia card. I selected 1080p (60MBps) for my web playback settings: Why 1080p? Because my monitor is fullHD only, so I don't need to stream 4K videos and it's also a good test-case. Let's see what happens: s I turned on "stats for nerds" as you can see. But it seems not respecting my 1080p request. Also, different values are displayed in "stats for nerds", and in settings on this current player (4K - 40Mbps). Dashboard seems also not respecting my preference. To see what happened actually, I've attached the transcode log. IMHO, all 4 places (stats4nerds, player setting, web setting, dashboard info) shall display the same value. Or at least: stats for nerds AND player setting and dashboard info shall be equal (in case player setting can temporary override web setting). Yes I realise that it's currently not a thing, but it would be nice to prevent Emby from recording discogs/musicbrainz tags in the future.

It's a pretty annoying issue to test. It also happens in the foreground. It doesn't seem to happen after a specific amount of tracks. It's almost like some timeout somewhere. This also occurs no the Android App. A way to prevent this from happening seems to be to every now and then go to "next track" manually. It seems some sort of timeout / inactivity thing though.

Hi, do you store your images in media folders? Do you have nfo files next to your videos?

Try using mp3tag to edit albumartist to Various Artist. And se if they all fall under "Various Artist" in sted of single artists.

I have lots of Compilations e.g. Now That's What i Call Music 1 - 103 Emby shows Now 1 as 20 albums. Its making a new album for each Artist I want to just see Now 1 as an album, click on it and see 20 tracks Note i have chosen. Perfectly organised into album folders, with tracks directly in the album folders

I ignored the first rule of a home network. When in doubt reboot the router. I was blindsided that everything else was working and Emby server could be accessed by external PC and local Android Tablet. One tends to forget that (in the UK) the routers from BT and Virgin etc are cheap as chips electronics from Taiwan/China etc. Anyway - rebooted router - loaded Emby on Firestick - found my Win11 Server straight away and we are back in business. Not the first time in my 40 years in computing that I missed the obvious.

Narjo does work great for carplay for sure. Can't wait until they add the Apple TV version too. I converted from Cloudbeats which was ok.

I do think "Title" Should be the movie name or the Series name. But I believe there should be a separate filter maybe called "Title (episodes)" that only filters at the episode name level and tags at the episode level. Can you not use the "Title (episodes)" filter to tag and/or add the individual episodes so that it is only them that shows up? I hate to keep bringing up another plugin but the Smart Playlist plugin does a similar thing by adding the individual episodes that match the filter (for example, christmas) to a collection.

Right. Adding a negative delay to the video file gives the same result of having no audio delay necessary and the video/audio remains in sync. However, I bump into this issue most often when I graft an extra audio track from a DVD or bluray in my collection to a new 4k release that only has english audio. This means the english track has no delay, but the extra track can, depending mostly on what studios appear at the start of each version of a movie. The negative video delay is not an option in this situation. As things are now, my options to play a video on the web app with one such grafted audio track that has a delay is to either start the video with an audio track with no delay(if there is one) until the video passes the delay set on the second audio track and then switch to that track, or, start the video with that second track immediately and seek a minute ahead before the stream crashes with a "No compatible streams are currently available." error.
