embyforkodi (next-gen) 12.X.X support
quickmic replied to quickmic's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
I checked and I found no issues. I guess, you assume the Emby settings are used for Kodi, but no. You must setup the default subtitle language in Kodi. -

I know this is a very old topic but I am now encountering this issue on my iphone. Nothing has changed but music no longer plays audio, it says it is playing the equilizer icons are showing it playing but no actual audio for MUSIC only. Live TV, TV Shows, and Movies all play via phone network with their audio just fine. As soon as I connect back to my wifi, then music audio again works. Has anyone found a method to mitigate this issue?

Unless I am misinterpreting the rules, I can't get the last played rule to work. What I'm trying to achieve is only show items watched by any user in the last 30 days.

Windows app Atmos TrueHD passthrough audio stuttering and interruption
scottpro replied to jjstecchino's topic in Windows & Xbox
@jjstecchino, You might want to try using Software Decoding under video settings as Hardware Decoding on certain GPU's can cause audio issues, especially high bandwidth streams like TrueHD/Atmos and DTS-HD/X. There are couple ways of setting this assuming you are using the Emby Theater Windows Store version: Use High Quality under Video Quality Presets, or Use Custom under Video Quality Presets and select Software Decoding for Video Hardware Acceleration Mode and Software Filtering for Video Processing. Your PC hardware looks powerful enough to handle this with no problem. This assumes you are using the modified mpv-1.dll (mpv-dev-x64_86-v3), from https://github.com/mitzsch/mpv-winbuild/releases You might want to start with version 2025-07-20. Version 2025-07-30 and later handle HDR tone mapping/metadata differently (libplacebo update) Hope this helps. - Yesterday

I've seen issues like this also (I use only Firefox). It seems Emby's web app tech stack and Fx don't go well together.

Live/Recorded TV MPEG2 Closed Captions (CC) don't work on Android Emby when remuxing or transcoding
wmichael3 posted a topic in Android
I've posted something about this in the past, but a little investigation has added to the details: For anything other than full passthrough Direct Play, CC will not display on Android Emby. This is because a "-sn" flag is injected by Emby to ffmpeg that instructs it to strip out subtitle streams. The UI shows the option to turn on the CCs, but that is ignored because they have been stripped from the stream. This does not pertain to browser playback, just Android. Which includes CCwGTV and the Google Streamer, as well as phones and tablets. CC worked find in Emby for Android TV. Here is an example ffmpeg command from an Emby log that illustrates this. This one is direct stream, but it is the same with a remux or with transcoding. I've highlighted the "-sn" flag. It would be nice to have CC in the Android version of Emby. It is probably not as simple as removing the flag, but I thought it worth mentioning. Edit: I took this out using ffmpeg search/replace and it did not have an effect. Probably more complicated than this. -

I’m running Kodi for Next Gen on my Ugoos amb6+. I had to reinstall Emby server and the Kodi Companion on a fresh install of Windows. I was able to get my new library detected but I still see thumbnails for movies that were on my old library (either “In Progress” or “Unwatched” etc). How do I get the library or server to properly detect what files are currently present and which have been deleted or were never even in the current library? I have tried the “repair library” and “refresh” options but still shows the same thing. When I look at the Emby library in my browser it is accurate. Thank you!

Same prob here. I just gave up in trying to understand it and stood on my head to add feeds.

Latest release won't install on older Samsung Tizen TV
SamES replied to verdynius's topic in Samsung Smart TV
Do you get any error message? Can you please try Ensure all Emby versions are fully uninstalled Remove power from the TV for a few minutes Reformat the USB drive Redownload the latest USB version and unpack to the USB Try installing Please let me know what happens in this case, or if you get any messages Sometimes some artefacts get left behind in the USB which can prevent installation -
I don't have Chrome but I tested in Edge and it seems to be working fine there. In Firefox the interface is constantly glitching out like as described. Also upon playback it stops being responsive. I can't pause the song, play a different song, change the view, etc. I tried troubleshooting mode in Firefox and issues persist there so I don't think its an add-on or something getting blocked.

Live TV with HD Homerun recorders - Closed Caption / Subtitle tutorial?
mohoelx posted a topic in Live TV
Hi. I use HD Homeruns for recording my Live TV directly into Emby. What I am struggling with is the Closed Captions. We don't use them always, but there are times (like on Watson when Shimwell is speaking) that it would be handy to be able to see them. Problem is, I can't seem to get it figured out. Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to set up so that the recorded closed captions can be turned on at a per-program level? -

New/upcoming movies/tv series. What media do You use?
darkassassin07 replied to PeteGul's topic in Non-Emby General Discussion
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kevinforeman.nzb360 NZB360. Integrates with Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Qbit/sabnzbd, Prowlarr, and more. Gives several 'upcoming', 'recently released', 'popular', and similar recommendation categories from a variety of sources, to browse and add to your library. Plus it integrates the calendar from all three apps nicely, displaying all of your 'to be downloaded' media in one place. One of my favorite tools outside the actual 'arr stack itself.
