  2. Over past year, MKV files with multiple subtitles have started to have Estonian subtitles with the ISO code 'ekk' in addition to the usual 'est' country code. Emby cannot guess language of these subtitles. Can this be added so, that Emby client shows usual Estonian with both - est and ekk language code? https://iso639-3.sil.org/code/ekk Frankly, it's IMHO stupid that a language spoken by about a million people in entire world is divided into three sublanguages.(est, ekk and vro) in ISO standard.

Emby takes forever to restart on server reboot.

Just a note about this issue. Overnight I had a power failure that lasted long enough for my battery backup to run down and so my server failed and did not reboot until the power came back on. That meant a full reboot of everything and, except for one computer that I had forgotten to make auto restart, everything came back up with zero interaction from me. It restarted Emby and when I tested Emby worked fine and all my clients, including the web app and my Rokus and my Shield TV and my Fire Sticks, came back up and were able to access Emby with no unreasonable delay. That is a test I would have never put my system through as my health makes detailed troubleshooting difficult but, fortunately for me, everything came back up without problem and my access to Emby is as quick as it ever was and I have no problems. If I was awake when the power went out I could have done a controlled shutdown but i was not and I did not so this was an unexpected failure test that Emby passed with flying colors. I have now tested just about all Emby functionality I use and I can report that everything is as quick as it ever was. Good job Emby and thank you for the reliability you have built in.

    Plugin: AutoTag

Not sure.. But i mean the function is there in the settings so why not? I had an older plugin doing it, not the new home screen ofc but all other library settings (library order for example). So i'm gonna investigate it and see what can be done.

    Plugin: AutoTag

Is it possible to add home screen sections via the Emby API? I couldn't find anything in the documentation.

    Plugin: AutoTag

Thanks to everyone testing and reporting bugs, I really appreciate it! Besides fixing bugs and small things you find, the next step in developing the plugin is adding a setting we can call "Home Screen Companion" The idea is to create something similar to Emby’s built-in “copy data to users” feature. You’ll be able to choose one user as the source, and then automatically apply that user’s Home Screen settings to all other users. It will sync automatically, so if I make changes to my source user, those changes will automatically be applied to all users set to follow it. For now, it’s just an idea and I haven’t looked into how complicated it would be to implement. That said, it’s a feature I personally really want, so I’ll definitely explore what’s possible.

    Plugin: AutoTag

So just to clarify, fou want an option to "override other entries with the same tag". Example if I have one entry named Spotlight and another named Spotlight Halloween that both put on the tag "spotlight". For halloween i want to overide so it only uses the items from my halloween and remove the tags from my ordinary Spotlight entry. Correct? I'll put it on the to-fix list, thanks for reporting! Thats kind of what i ment. In my testing i did tag 14.500 items, thats when the issue with a temporary crash/loading appeared. And my server is kind of beefy.. Not sure how to solve this, i dont believe there are a lot of users who put on this many tags, so it's only an issue for some people. It's not a top priority to fix at the moment. If anyone experience this issue just let it sit for another minute and it catches up. I will add the option to enter either the Movie name ot imdb ID. I like the idéa of the negative matching. I'll look into it What do you mean by the runtime? You can select: equal, less, more? It's the same as year option? The (min) stands for "minutes" I'll see what I can do, thanks for reporting!

    M3U Editor...what do you use?

IPTVBOSS. Best editor out there. Many are starting to copy some of the functions and options that BOSS has been providing for a long time. https://iptvboss.pro
  11. I always dread updating because every time I do something has changed or broken. This time I've noticed the following issues from what little I've used of the new update so far (all in the web based view): First, loading Emby just seems to take forever sometimes or even not at all without having to refresh several times. Typically it just shows a black screen and the emby logo with zero user feedback on what is even happening. Maybe it's frozen, maybe it's loading something, maybe it's done and not doing anything for some reason. More feedback would be appreciated, and no a spinning wheel is not enough. Clicking on the Playlists item used to actually show my playlists, now it shows...nothing. I have to go to Music -> Playlists to bring it up. What's the point of the playlists button on the home screen then? Playing a music playlist was nice, now it's taken a few steps back. It used to show the album cover super blurred out in the background (cool), now it just shows a boring color gradient to black (not cool) and unless there's a super vibrant dominant color it just ends up being gray or super muted and just looks bland. With the playlist open on the right side it used to show the eq animation over the album cover of the current song and so on down the page until it got to the last one visible on the page, then the next song would appear at the top of the page (cool), now it constantly jumps the new currently playing song to the top (not cool) There can now be a major delay in updating the song information in the now playing info. It could be several seconds or more into a new song and still showing the previous song's information Volume seems to have dropped. I have my system volume at 50% and when my playlist would play i'd have to drop the emby volume from 100% down to 40%. Since the update i still have my system volume at 50% but now i only seem to have to drop the emby volume down to 60%-70%. These are some things i've experienced since updating today.

Carplay - There was a problem loading this content

Then I save myself from all the hassle, I guess... Was fun hack project though, never wrote mobile app before or even attempted to do so.
  13. I already switched some time back to Narjo - https://narjomusic.com/ Which works perfectly with CarPlay and Emby.
  14. I’m sure everyone will have an opinion on this but I’ll give you mine! Regardless if you use this plugin or not I would install dispatcharr. It gives you the ability to group multiple streams into one single channel. So only one channel instance is exposed to emby/users but dispatcharr in the background will pick the stream that’s working and will automatically switch to another. You can also reorder the streams in order of preference too, resolution, bitrate, audio codec etc. This method also gives you static channel numbers that are easy to move around and insert new channels inbetween. You can also rename the channels however you wish. The whole channel management is amazing. If you have multiple accounts or sources then these can all combined with ease. Selecting/De-delecting groups is easier. I’ve used IPTVBoss too. The chattiness issue…dispatcharr does expose some of the underlying streaming options so there is more control over it, but I can’t say just out of the box it will be better. Dispatcharr can also work as a proxy which you may or may not like the idea of… So now to why you may want both this and dispatcharr. For me it’s the strm generation for VOD content. It’s the best solution I’ve found so far, everything else is as you say very clunky. But I’ve not tested it throughly yet. If you only use Live TV and apart from the fast switching that you’ve mentioned there is no compelling reason to use this and dispatcharr. I’m not using it as yet, I’m still pulling in a M3U from dispatcharr into emby as a M3U tuner. I’m planning on doing some testing in the next week or so. I just don’t want to break the system I have for live tv!

Carplay - There was a problem loading this content

Anyway, due to being low priority for devs. Started with small sideproject for myself, PlexAMP kind of App for Emby. I have a rough prototype, currently only supporting playlists and their playback. It will be IOS only (we have plenty of Android music players for Emby anyways).
  16. I currently have IPTVBoss set up to create M3U files on the server and emby set up with an M3u TV Source and and XMLTV guide data source. It works, but it pretty horrible and clunky. I was just about to install dispatcharr when I cam across this (on reddit) Why would I need this AND dispatcharr rather than just dispatcharr. I get the streamflow will make channel changes quicker. Does this reduce emby's "chattiness" that can get it blocked from some streams/providers? or is that another reason for installing this alongside dispatcharr? I haven't installed wither yet, so forgive me if my questions seem a bit novice like.

    Please Put Back Specials Option!!

Yes, but wouldn't it be better to add the option to include all specials to avoid these issues? I have seen 22 problems with TVDB and its specials, so instead of blaming someone else and ignoring the issue, maybe fixing this feature by adding a toggle to avoid these issues would be better. IP mean people who go through the trouble of adding the specials to the specials folder in the first place prob means they want to see them when they aired. Whether TVDB has it listed as crucial or not. I use Emby for anime, and this genre is all messed up on tvdb and most specials are important and part of the story. Surely adding a simple toggle to add all specials to their place would not be much trouble. honestly with anime, this is the most important feature cause anime has a lot more specials than regular shows.

    embyforkodi (next-gen) 12.X.X support

Hi Quickmic, I'm not sure exactly when this started, but after selecting a live TV show (IPTV addon), Kodi will not release the tuner when I stop the TV show it in the GUI. When selecting Live TV to record using the Kodi context menu, It will record and stop properly with no issues. If I reboot the Emby server, The tuner is released. I'm currently running Kodi Piers Alpha2 Ver 22.0 Compiled 2026-02-27 and E4K Ver 12.4.5 HDHomerun 2 tuner box. Please let me know if you need further info. Thanks!

    Bestimmte "Inhalte / Kategorien" ausblenden

LG Alex

    Subtitles folder

Please don't cater to the lazy bums that don't want to tidy up there libraries. And just download sh#t, and lob it in there folder structure, thinking it's ok.
  21. Guess dev's will need server logs.
  22. I feel your pain. I have 4 different "Eric Claptons". Tagged whole music library with beets several times, nothing helped. Even retagged without musicbrains, same result.
  23. @LukeSomething that's planned a fix for?
  24. A little more perspective... Mp3tag counts the number of unique albums in my library as 1,682. Emby puts the count at 2,321. There are many (most?) albums that are treated correctly. Not all of the problem albums are large - I just spotted a single-CD album with just five files (four from one artist and one file from that artist collaborating with one other) that emby splits into two albums.

    Subtitles folder

Hi Luke, reviving this topic to ask if we could ever expect that "convoluted" subtitle structure (aka "the rarbg structure") to become recognized in Emby. I've come to realise the unusual structure of <Series>/Season 1/Subs/<Series> S01E01/English.srt makes a ton of sense when you're interested in having +3 sub languages for an episode. If you were to keep all of these in the main season folder of a 20-ep season, suddenly it gets really messy (since every language gives you +20 additional files in the same folder).
  26. Thanks for the info on cleaning. Seems to have helped a lot but one thing I noticed is for movies as part of a numbered list are hardware to clean up. ie. Original name EN-TOP - 01. SR (1993) I can take out the EN-TOP - but then i'm still left a movie name with numbers in front of them. Using v1.4.26.0 with emby stable 4.9.3.0 What I've discovered is the information is saved but it is not always reflected right away. If I navigate to the emby dashboard and then back to the plugin page everything looks normal. I tested on a different server with 1.4.39 and I don't see that issue.
