Collections randomly lost movies but display art still shows them

They're manual collections. I did some further investigation. I have the playback reporting plugin installed and I looked at the movies that were affected (i.e. removed from a collection) and compared it to those that weren't. It seems that the movies that got removed had their ID changed. When I click on a movie through this plugin (which takes you to the movie page in emby directly, emby shows an error "The requested item could not be found. It may have been recently removed from the server." However movies that weren't affected work fine and just go to that movie (i.e. the movie item ID has not changed). However if I search for the affected movie and check the stats, it says e.g. "Added 06/01/2021" so I'm not sure. I have emby server installed on a synology box and recently added a drive so I'm not sure if maybe it temporarily moved the file or became temporarily unavailable to emby? I would have though the "Added" item in emby would change though. Is there a way to keep item IDs persistent? - Yesterday

I searched and have seen lots of solutions for migrating posters, playlists, watch progress to Emby. What is a migration solution to migrate media star ratings to Emby? I have rated thousands of files. It would be terrible to lose that work. The ratings are used for smart playlists. Recreating playlists is not a big deal. Re-rating music is a big deal.

I'm not aware of any issues. @famarchCan you please check the network settings, particularly the DNS setting on the ATV to ensure it matches the other devices? Can you try using 1.1.1.1 as your DNS? Somewhat similar network connectivity issue in this thread, which was a DNS issue on the single local device -

Yocker, could the 'rules' be adjusted to optionally apply to a series rather than tag/studio? Other 'rules' that would be awesome: allow changing detection settings other than image-related? e.g. 'analysis percent', 'min credit length', 'max credit length', 'fingerprint duration'. For example, Netflix has really long credits due to the multilingual translations allow disabling of credit detection at all. For example, JRE podcast essentially has zero credits, and analyzing possibly 25% of the 3+ hour episode (nearly 3000 of them) to end in nothing detected would be a big waste We appreciate your work! UPDATE: Fix: Emby Upcoming Page Slow to Load My Emby Upcoming page was taking an annoying 2+ minutes to load, this happens every 4-5 hours. After some digging I found Emby fetches live data from TheMovieDB every time you click it rather than using a local cache. The Fix A small Docker container that runs alongside Emby. It caches the Upcoming data every night at midnight and serves it instantly through a proxy on port 8097. Now emby "upcoming" works insanely like jellyfin. Summery: Port 8097 → Use this for all your devices (browser, Android TV box) Port 5050 → Cache status page http://NAS IP:5050/status Midnight → Cache refreshes automatically every night it's great that RTM now works like Jellyfin, but I'm still using my custom Emby-Watcher-Service, I created weeks ago, before the official bug fix, because it's almost instant. All these fixes I created with the help of Claude & Gemini AI make using Emby a joy. I no longer use Kodi or Jellyfin. The feature I’m proudest of is 'Upcoming,' which now displays the correct dates via Trakt. It was a real challenge—Claude AI insisted it couldn't be done, but I kept pushing and feeding it ideas until we finally cracked it. -

It would be nice to have the option to display a "Where to Watch" section when a series is incomplete. Lets say you only have 2 seasons of a 3 season show, when you click on the show it has a section that says "Seasons 1-2 available on Emby ", "Watch Season 3 via Hulu". So if someone is watching a show and they want to continue to seasons you don't have yet they will know which streaming service to use to watch the remaining seasons. Not sure how plausible this is but I see when you look a show up on google they have a similar Where To Watch section, you might be able to utilize that. Thanks

Okay. I will give that a try and let you know how it goes! I'm assuming it will recreate the playlists library in the usual place where it was before. So all the playlists will still be in there. Now that I am under CGNAT as well, I have been trying to get the Emby Alexa skill working again. I became acquainted with Tailscale. I have been able to get remote access and SSL cert from Tailscale working on my TS machines. I'm not sure if it is even feasible to get Emby Connect to work with this and the Alexa skill. I've tried a lot of things, but no luck. Is there something crucial that Cloudflare does here vs. TS? "Sorry, I'm having trouble accessing your Emby skill right now" -

I see what you mean by tabs vs a dropdown. Problem comes into play when you have something that's 30+ seasons. I'll think about something but no promises. Really not much effort has gone into ordering, I think I only did the one page. I'll get back to that at some point. I was actually debating on removing that entirely. But if you use it and find value in it, sure i can add it to a want list.

Hi, am I right to assume that the old version where external players are supported is only available for Windows/MacOS and not for Android or iOS? If not, did we have link to the apps for other devices? Lacking external players is causing me significant headaches. -
If you happen to be using a VPN connection together with Emby, you may be running into an option available to Youtube content providers to limit any playback on VPN connections and related features. In other words, using VPN to connect to any Emby server may cause a Youtube limitation. If you don't use a VPN, then this would not apply. If you are using a VPN to connect, try turning your VPN off and see if that helps with YouTube trailer playback. Youtube feature play for content providers on how they could limit sharing their content through Youtube. This limit would possibly change for each Youtube member. Just thought I would mention this. 1. Thank you very much, I'll experiment with that. If it doesn't work, I'll just delete the code from "Header Transparency & Frost" and go back to the default gray header. 2. If in the Display section you find the "Preferred TV Show display" subsection and select "Show all episodes of all seasons together" then the TV series seasones will also be displayed as drop-down lists. I like this display much better than the individual folder display, since in my case almost all of my shows have either one or two seasons. Otherwise, I just experimented with the code a bit to customize the UI to my taste. At least as much as possible. (screanshot 1) 3. Thanks for the reply. I hope they implement a feature like this someday. 4. Perhaps in this case I will also have to wait until someone can implement my idea. Currently, the display through "Show all episodes of all seasons together" more than satisfied for me but in ideal i would like to have smth like i show in my second screanshot, when each season is located on a separate tab, and the episodes are arranged in a table, that is, one under the other. It would also be great if the information from the About section was displayed as a single line, rather than in a column as it is now. But that's a question for the developers, not you. P.S. I also noticed that your section "LAYOUT & ORDERING"doesn't take into account the presence of collections. While collections were previously placed between "CAST" and "SIMILAR" items by default, the presence of the "LAYOUT & ORDERING" section now causes collections to be displayed at the very top, immediately below the description, which may not be very convenient. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you very much in advance.

Will be fixed in the next beta and release. Partially fixed in the latest beta but there’s still ads in some trailers.

There is 7 day expiry for port maps created by Emby Server. You can circumvent that by rebooting the router. So make sure the redundant server does not have the option for auto launch on login to windows. Shut it down. Reboot the router Then setup the nvidia shield as the only emby server with 8096 as the port to forward to the server With multiple emby server the solution would be as specified in the article: > In such cases, you will need to change the public ports and ensure that each emby server has a different public port. But whilst most routers allow you to have a different public port from the private/local port, some routers do not. For routers that support it, you would have one port forward for example forwarding wan/public port 32601 to lan/private port 8096 for the first server and say wan/public port 32602 to lan/private port 8096 for the second server and in each server settings you specifiy public port 32601 for first server and 32602 for second server
