Just switched to the Music Assistant beta branch just to try this out, and it's working great for me. Was worried it wouldn't work, as my Emby and HA/MA instances are not on the same network, but was able to point it via an IP and it all works flawlessly. Very happy with this, was plugging my laptop into my home AV set up every time I wanted to stream music from Emby, but now it's all cast-able from MA.

Launch directly to DOWNLOADS or SELECT SERVER when not local?

Putting the phone into Airplane mode will almost instantly dump you directly to "Select Server" / "Downloads" icon screen. -

I made a test instance of Emby to have a look at the plugin, and I must say it is NICE. VERY NICE. Excellent work. Not really a fan of the AI craze but your ideas seems to be quite useful and non intrusive. Could be a nice addition to suggested videos. I must have over looked it, but the plugin does not seem to handle music videos at all. Did I miss something? I also have to say thanks for the detailed write ups. They have made the plugin easier to understand and also make your intent for each feature very clear. I, and I suspect others, are truly grateful for that. A Million thanks, LongMan

I'm still waiting for the plugin update to get into the catalog. It's idiotic to continue providing updates as dl in the forums while the version in the catalog is largely unusable..

Oooookay, Im betting that's probably why TL was part of the equation. I follow, yeah I think I may stick to your route since MOST of my library is as good as its gonna get by now, I dont expect the updated files will be terribly frequent. Thank you both!
-
No. Emby is currently not aware of the concept of "updated" item - it's either existing item or a new item. You can always save NFOs with media (and rename it accordingly upon "updated" movie file moved to relevant movie folder), so all metadata (including original Date Added which'll be honored ) will be preserved.
-
Ok, Im cool with all that. Whats done is done I suppose. Last question, and please know Im extremely grateful for the help.... If Radarr finds a better version OF THE SAME MOVIE already in Emby, is Emby able to realize that its not a "new" uploaded movie, just a revision, as it pertains to my library sort?
-
The idea would be integrating Emby into Duo, such that when a user signs in through duo they can access emby without signing in again.
-
Yes. But changes already made are irreversible (unless all those items removed and re-added).
-
Yes they should,

Hey Grim, thanks for the quick reply. I was aided in building my library/emby by family that has been doing Emby FOREVER. Perhaps it was how he prefers his library but until now I was too inexperienced to know I DIDNT want it doing that. So, moving forward, since I removed the Time Lord trigger, all NEWLY ADDED movies SHOULD present at the top when sorted, correct?

I would provide logs were this a software error issue, really Im just looking for someone that might know more than be about how I probably set something up incorrectly. I dont think Emby is malfunctioning just maybe conflicting settings or one thing taking precedence over another. Time Lord had a trigger to do this action every morning....I have since removed it. I still wouldnt think that would override the librarys ability to sort by date added entirely but maybe Im wrong

It is. Why did you install it in the first place (as it is not one of the default plugins that come with the vanilla server), what were you hoping to achieve?
-
i think this is something that needs to be looked in to. The audio is Truehd (I havent experimented with much with other audio formats), but when its converted server side it changes the colors of Dolby Vision content which is not seen when the transcoding permissions are taken away and the Apple TV itself is forced to convert it device side which would be the better way anyways since it it putting less load on the server and seems to be faster at loading the content, especially when it comes to transcoding subtitles on 4k content, it is a breeze when you have the Apple TV itself handle it rather than the server.

I am rather new to Emby and Im doing my best to find my way before asking for help but at this point Im at a loss. This is probably a seemingly trivial thing to most I imagine but in my library I like to be able to sort my MOVIES by RECENTLY ADDED (translation: those most recently uploaded to the library). Im not so lazy as to not realize that sorting by "Date Added" is already a default option, as is "Release date", the problem Im encountering is that the results of each ARE THE SAME (see pics) and I dont know how to fix. I do have Date Added behavior set to "date scanned into library" but I dont know if maybe Time Lord is screwing it up so it wont even sort by added in the library. Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks in advance!

[BUG] The playback progress of ISO disc movies is not sync to the Emby server.
quickmic replied to chuwz's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
@Luke -
That is not feasible, each filename change will result in Emby seeing that item as newly added (if you save NFOs with media, all metadata will be retained - including original Date Added, which'll be honored for renamed file, just rename the NFO accordingly).

GrimReaper started following adding informations to movies name

It won't, unless it's a multi-version movie. Movie filenames are not important in typical scenarios (single movie per folder) - folder names are, you can write whatever you want in the actual <moviefilename>.ext.

Each time I record something, I get the three erros shown below. Doesn't seem to affect recording, but clogs up my logs. Any thoughts on whats up?
