I found an issue with my VPN that was causing one problem.. and it got better, happening less frequently, though last night I was able to duplicate it where VLC worked & Emby didn't. I'll see if I can dig up another log for that time period & post it back. Thanks for sticking with me.

Hi, if you have tried Scan Library Files and Refresh Metadata and the rogue genres remain, then you could perhaps try removing them using the Metadata Editor of the individual albums. You could do this one-by-one or bulk remove all selected bad genres from one album at a time, as per image below: I couldn't find a way to potentially bulk remove a selection of Genres from a library via the music Genres page though. Someone else may know a more efficient way??? If the rogue genres still appear after rescanning/refreshing, then you may need to investigate further? Cheers!

It seems, after searching the forum, that I'm not the only one with this problem. Therefore, troubleshooting should be a priority here. It's unacceptable that there's no response. If it were all freeware, that would be fine, but I paid over €100 for a lifetime license and expect decent support! Not good advertising, but good for the competition...

You select the user in the DLNA settings. Maybe that's just for library access though.

Does DLNA specify an Emby user? I presume not, so there is no way for Emby to know which user to attribute the play to. Paul

yeah so i couldnt move the files cuz i had to main the structure, so instead i renamed that folder name to "House (2004) (Complete)..." instead which i think fixed it...? Because it looks like this now, and maybe i'm unfamiliar with dashboard's seasons' new look now as instead of this dropdown i remember there being posters listed outside for seasons in a row. It must be just a new thing. thanks nonetheless.

I'd like to play a HDR 10 movie on my SDR Monitor/TV. Unfortunately the client (running on FireTV) is unable to automatically select the transcoding. I tried the "Playback correction" but still the video is played in "Direct play". The movie is 1080p and I could set the max playback resolution to 720p to force the transcoding, but I'm not happy to lower the resolution to solve this kind of problem. It could be nice if in the emby-client will be added an option to play a video with transcoding, without the need to apply workaround to solve a simple playback problem. Thanks, Dan

Someone added already the anime to the site thetvdb, but in case it is still relevant, I had entered in different search tries - the chinese name 驭灵师 to the title field - the id 280095 to the TheMovieDb Id field which both resulted in returning a single search result that was correct but when applied it used a gorden ramsay series. Now it will find the correct list even when entered B.King as title and identify works as intended.

No, but you might get away with it by moving all Season folders one level up, directly beneath "House" folder (out of "House (2004) Season 1-8 S01-S08..." folder). Give it a shot.

It was somewhere in the Emby documents, but I looked at so much I don’t remember where I saw this. If I come across it again, I’ll post the document title, or the url. Hello Emby Users. I am loading my m3u url into the TVSoure and it adds all the info. Only issue i found it does not put Series into the Seires tab when i look they are listed in the Guide under the channels and this is also where it puts the movies as well. So this makes a long guide to look through for a specific series or movie. Is there a way to get these organized in the Live TV section as Series and Movies. Only Thing that shows in the series is what i have selected to record as a series and not series listed in the m3u from the provider. Thanks

Because your TV Show folder has garbage characters, it literally says "...Season 1..." and parser is acting on it, treating all episodes beneath as belonging to season 1 (as your parent/main TV Show folder is actually "House", not "House (2004) Season 1-8 S01-S08..."). Rename/restructure your folders as recommended and rescan library. TV Naming

Perhaps it's been long enough for the package to have been updated, but I just installed 4.9.3.0 by shutting down the emby-server service, running `pkg update`, and then running `pkg add` with the URL for the new version. After starting it, it came back up fine, but requested another restart to finish updating. After that, it seems to be running fine.

I thought that was just the API for Kodi etc.. The first hit on that google search was: "OpenSubtitles.org has largely retired its API for free users as of the end of 2023" I downloaded subs form .Org manually as late as today without problems..im not VIP and never have been and used it for Plex since long after 2023, so I didnt really get it to make sense.. N.
