the firewall has been running three weeks no issues. i reinitialized the default tasks and scans two week before firewall. so thats been 5 weeks and no issues, dont know whsat the underlying cause could be. but fingers crossed its managed to right itself. Appreciate everyones help and advice

For example, the emby app on LG smart TVs shows up a good readable font. Actually, I don't know if that font is taken from LG's webOS system, but it's good. The ones on emby Android and Fire TV are hard to read—they must be enlarged but then their large line-spacing takes so much room on screen.

I’ve been loving replacing actor avatars with my like’s images in Emby Server. However, I’ve run into a consistent issue: the plug-in fails to sync these custom actor pictures to the individual episode details. It would be amazing if this could be fixed in a future update. Since me and my partner both watch (sometimes the same) movies separately I'd also like to see some sort of internal rating system. Preferably that ratings are stored on a per user-media relation, regardless of which type of media it is; audio, episode, movie, season, whatever. It would be cool if all those ratings are also aggregating with the media itself to create an average rating. Thinking even more towards future implementations, this would mean Emby could also store these reviews on their own servers to have their own mean-rating. Let's start simple for now though; being able to rate something on a user level would be nice. Being able to view / sort by these ratings would be even nicer. Also; considering everybody's slowing backing out of the boolean like/dislike ratings and returning to the 5 or 10 star methods, I'd like to see that as well.

Currently AC3 384kbps is the only thing Emby will transcode to. There is a feature request for additional codecs such as plain EAC3 and some additional bitrate options. EAC3 with Atmos would require licensing fees.

@sftech13 do you mean something like this, where the titles are wrapped to (at least) two lines? In this example they've chosen to partially show the third line to indicate "there's more content", which I can get behind.

Also having similar issues with subtitles not showing initially or disappearing when moving to the next episode. The same conditions for my user as @gebruiker's users apply; DirectPlay video, Audio (sometimes) transcoded. The issue seems to occur more often when the audio is transcoded though.

What device are you using to watch? The filename contains "x265", indicating it's a HEVC encoded file. Chromecasts and/or Windows 10 devices don't support HEVC natively.

for some reason emby has started buffering my Tom & Jerry Cartoons...I thought it might be a bad drive so I moved it to a different drive but it is still doing the same thing not sure why it started this out of the blue. Thanks Michael embyserver.txt

Having Emby run on a non-focussed tab causes this issue to occur much faster (also after about 2 or 3 songs). Here's a screeny of the console: From the "universal" log and onwards the playback suddenly started working again. It's almost like there's a timing issue going on between progress calls or so. I'll debug further.

+1 Agree with that feature. Since Emby updated the home screen customization , I immediately thought about removing the “Downloads” section, which can already be found in several other places. Would it be possible to implement an option to delete or remove this section on the home screen ? Thanks

@Luke Yes i do. I also Setup a new Swag Container just to test this out. It does not work when i have this enabled: If i turn this Feature off it works fine. (With NPM and also with Swag Setup)

While I agree, I'd say this is a nice-nice-nice-to-have feature and can be handled in the meanwhile by manually setting the images to something more neutral. Opposite to that, I'd suggest creating a separate library with child content, that'll make your file handling / management a lot easier since you'll get to decide on a per-file basis what they're allowed to; this also conveniently solves your image issue.

@user24i want to avoid any "third party integrations" as to make Emby as whole as possible. I would prefer not to jankily copy-paste files and cross my fingers it won't mess up my installation (as there is no guarantee obviously). Still, looking at this FR mine was a duplicate and I would like to have access to extra meta for songs as well and also filters / sort by them.

Ok, so if a source has TrueHD or proper Atmos soundtrack that could not be transcoded to Enhanced AC-3?

I have a profile for my children and the TV series Folder still shows the artwork generated for the main TV folder. this isn't a train smash but does not look accurate and doesn't look appropriate as an example the folder could show artwork from Blade or Walking dead on a 3 year olds screen. it would be great if the artwork is selected based on the current active profile.

@ebrand @speechlesI too am having this issue all of a sudden, even on movies that played back properly before using internal and external SRT subs. I wonder if a recent Roku update broke something? I'm using a RokuTV running 15.1.4 build 3334. What's even more interesting is if I force a full transcode on the emby Roku app via playback correction, subtitles still don't appear.

But transcoding isn't restricted on my own account. Also, the videos all do direct play for the remote users, only audio is transcoded sometimes and that's not restricted.

It's an android dialog. doesn't it have an option to always use a certain app for a certain type of file?

The plugin uses the images from Emby server not from TMDB, but some custom skins loading artwork from the internet. Anyway, I think the issue might be something else than a skinning problem. Not all changes are reported by the server and the plugin simply doesn't know the change. I will run some tests to identify the issue, but not sure if I can fix it from plugin side.
