If your multi-versions are under the same folder, then sure, but what if they are not ? My HD and UHD versions are not even on the same disk pool, yet alone the same folder... The primary issue is, as soon as you 'group' multi-versions, via the gui - you lose the emby functionality on the non-primary item (incl things like changing Tags for example..)

Use folder view of the libary. Then find the root library folder shown which has all the items that have changed or been added. Use the 3-dot menu and choose "Scan Library" at that level. It always works for me this way. Don't scan library on the entire TV library itself with the 3-dot menu. Enter the TV library and go the folder view. Then do it from that top-level root folder itself. Its much faster.

I don't believe it matters. On my multi-versions, with the correct naming - if I do anything on the context menu, it only relates to the version shown in the filename under MediaInfo. Emby does not apply the action to 'all' the versions - it only applies it to the primary one. I think that is the issue here.

Adding tmdbid to the filename worked! Thanks! Didn't know about this trick before.

i still use emby live tv, but the only thing it gives me over jellyfin is the guide data for antenna tv. would be nice if emby improved its live tv features and tune times.

Maybe they should instead be: Industry (2020)/ Industry (2020) [UHD]/ Then they would stack and be seen as different versions of the same item. You likely have both already scanned. Everything inside brackets is part of the version. The parenthesis is part of the year designation.

right - with you - so you are using the context menu to scan the files - so this makes perfect sense WHY you are only seeing updates on a single entity, because you are only actually viewing a single entity. This is a bug/oversight imo. If you install the 'Explore Item Data' plugin - you will see that regardless on the version you select on the screen, it will only change the primary item. To confirm this (as a test), split the items (under About > MediaInfo at the bottom), then do a scan library files on EACH item, and it will find and add the SRT immediately.

What confuses me throughout this thread is that people say they have 'moved on', but to what? If I use IPTV, not every one of my players is android and has TVMate. I run my servers on Synology, so I'm not even sure if TVNext works on there. Maybe this is for another thread, but for those that have given up on Emby Live TV, and who use IPTV services, any guidance is appreciated.

Hi. It is an important distinction as the two data paths are completely different but you were using one to justify the performance of another.

We have to know people using certain features because we are charged for that. Like I said, his statement was exaggerated.

Seems like a very misleading statement then when he claims a "lack of any kind of telemetry" when there clearly is some kind of telemetry.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean but when I look at my router management page and locate my device hosting my emby server, it has the same WAN IP as the IP checker whether it is checked from my computer or from the device itself. Edit: it does not have the WAN IP but the LAN IP on my router management page. Hang on I'm trying to figure things out.

I had some of the same issues with getting it to work via the clicked html link. I also downloaded the html files locally and tried that way. In firefox, it says "the connection used to fetch this resource was not secure". In chrome, using my emby local ip address and port, it just said "no duplicates found in any library" , but that message popped up instantly so it obviously didn't get access to search over time. . . . I have enough security on my machine that I don't want to strip everything for this, so I'll probably just pass for now. Directory opus has a duplicate file finder, so maybe I can make that an overall wildcard somehow and isolate it's search to the shared emby folders. Typically it's used to search by a specific file name, but directory opus is practically a whole OS and can do a million things so I might be able to get it to work like that. Edit: This method might work in directory opus, but may require " * " to make the file name a wildcard on one or both ends. . . . This emby search tool is cool looking idea for those that get it to work though.

Yeah, SW was a little sarcastic in that statement. We do have some insights (like the above) that normal user's don't. But, our commitment to not "track" you does make it harder.

So how do you determine the actual number of users consuming guide data that must be reported to GraceNote if there is truly no telemetry? Is that number based on measured usage, or does GraceNote actually accept a "best guess"? Because earlier statements from ebr seem to suggest that this number is known, not estimated.

Hi. That is going to depend on your screen size but we can see if it can be improved.

Make sure it matches the WAN IP of your router, not your server. This is because the server is getting the same information you did from the site. You want to make sure the WAN interface on your router also has the same IP. Otherwise it's double-NAT or CGNAT.

The IP matches the WAN IP for my emby server so I don't think it's a CGNAT. The Port checker says my WAN IP port is closed though so there's something wrong with that. I tried assigning a different port to the WAN IP server and forwarded that in my Router but that didn't work either. I tried assigning and forwarding 3 different ports but they all say it's closed. I don't know how to proceed.
