While poking at Emby with an MCP server I've been writing, I found items that can't be deleted through the API at all. If an item's folder no longer exists on disk, and that folder held more than one item, DELETE /Items/{Id} answers 404 Could not find a part of the path '<folder>' and the entry stays in the database. An item that was alone in its folder deletes fine in the same state, including a film stacked as CD1/CD2 — so it's the multiple-items-per-folder case that breaks. Reproduced on a clean 4.10.0.31: 1. Create /media/test/Two Films (2011)/ holding First Film (2011).mp4 and Second Film (2013).mp4. 2. Add /media/test as a movie library and scan. Two entries appear. 3. Delete the folder Two Films (2011) from disk. Don't rescan. 4. Call DELETE /Items/{Id} on either entry. Expected: the entry is removed, as it is when a scan drops missing items. Actual: 404 Could not find a part of the path '/media/test/Two Films (2011)'. Both entries stay. Recreating that folder empty and repeating the exact same calls returns 204 and removes both entries. So the delete only needs to read the folder, not the files in it. A missing folder should be treated the same as an empty one. These entries can't be removed by any route I could find without actually creating the folder. Renaming a library folder left me with thousands of entries under the old path, outside every library, so no scan ever revisits them and the API delete is the only thing left. Most deleted fine; the ones that had shared a folder refused until I recreated each folder by hand. I saw the same error for an episode in that state, but I only reproduced the film case cleanly.

My TrueNAS Core 13.5 Emby server is running 4.10.0.40 fine so this may be something specific about your jail.

I've got a 5950x and if you are willing to give it all the CPU by tweaking settings up it could be only a couple seconds per episode. A easy episode takes 3-5 second and a long one seems to take 12-15 seconds. I can't remember what all the defaults are but I know I turned the thread and CPU limiting ones to use as much CPU as possible (I used scheduling to have this only run afterhours when everyone was asleep). I turned up the parallel FFmpeg sessions to 8. I also increased the number of parallel batch size to as high as it took to max out the CPU usage (This is 16 right now but I think going as high as 24 still saw improvements). The last one I tweaked was Max Concurrent Files to accommodate your storage bandwidth as increasing this seems to help a little but no where near as much as the batch size and uncapping all the throttling settings. I then set it to go while the family went on a week long vacation and it was done before we got back. Not sure on exact time length that it took. It only had ~24K episodes after TheIntroDB plugin was done. The fastest is if TheIntroDB has results so make sure you have that working and run through it as it saves a lot of time if you run it first. The plug-in is able to skip any that have the credits detected when you do the second run with OCR running. Every episode that gets a hit will be done twenty times faster(or more) than OCRing.

Installed a linux shell on my nas for running automated scripts and Xtreme Ui so I can load my entire Emby library to load complete meta data customized how I want for Tivimate I guess. I was trying to get away from Tivimate but I can customize what I want to look and run how I want so thanks for the push for making me do it. I can even load gif inside of Tivimate animated logos posters backdrops full meta data with api keys less weight means no bloat. I'm crafty I can make anything look good and come to life especially when I get hated on makes me work harder Xtreme UI can do more than you know and runs 100% on a nas shell, just need this refund and I'm good. I'm ready for anything come my way

Thanks. I believe it can be narrowed to the MPV player. The native player does not exhibit this issue. Unsure if related, but Emby can also maintain orphan streams created when device clients disconnect or 2+ users on the same stream. Is it possible a client is subjected to duplicate data from multiple streams (current + 1+ orphan) into a buffer?

My LG TV is blocked from accessing the internet but can community with my Emby server on LAN. The Emby server has internet access and a fully valid Emby premier license. When I'm open the Emby app on the LG TV and try to hir "play" it quite often won't do anything. Like the button doesn't work. Then after a few mins I get several times the same pop which asks me to get Emby premiere or wait 10 seconds to continue. Seems like a bug? Latest Emby server and Emby LG.app.
