The smartlist and home screen display functions work great, but the plugin requires beta versions of the server. I found out that the Emby addon for Kodi doesn't work well with the latter, even 12.X versions of the addon: as the addon collects metadata from the freezer, it stops scanning after a certain point. I'm currently using Kodi with Emby because the former has very good smartlist features, etc. The problem is that it eats up storage in the Android TV. Using a flash drive helps but Kodi still runs slowly, e.g., it processes things for around 30 seconds after I view and delete a video. Several have been requesting for a smartlist feature for Emby for around a decade. Meanwhile, I found out that they have a plugin for that in Jellyfin, but the Android apps for the latter have limited features. For example, when you browse a playlist, you can only see the titles of the movies, and probably the duration. They don't show more details, like community ratings, the synopsis, etc., unlike in Kodi.

Hi everyone, having a very strange issue with Emby on one of my Apple TVs. Everything was working up until a few days ago. Now, any video I play has no audio. After a bunch of troubleshooting, I was able to get audio to work only if I changed the playback settings to use the ATV native player. Setting it to auto or MPV gives no audio. This is happening regardless of the codecs; every video has the same issue. It is also only happening on one Apple TV. I have three, and everything works fine on the other two. I have tried restarting the server, restarting the Apple TV itself, and uninstalling and reinstalling the Emby app. I've also tried to force transcoding (the videos usually direct play) and the issue persists. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

That was indeed the part of the issue. Turns out my server installation corrupted and wouldn't let me access those user permissions. I had to uninstall and reinstall the server and import my configs back but I then got access to those permissions and the problem is solved. Thank you so much for the help.

There is and it's continuous process, but it's simply a losing Whack-a-mole game. There's simply too much of them and too few of the team.

I am running Emby server on a Terramater NAS, if that helps but access it through my Windows 11 PC

Hi Leute, ich benutze nun seit zwei Wochen Emby und habe vorher Jellyfin mit Infuse benutzt. Grundsätzlich gefällt mir Emby aber was mich wundert sind die kleinen Bugs die immer mal wieder auftauchen. Zum einen startet die Apps ab und zu nicht. Manchmal werden Dateien nicht abgespielt. Wenn ich die App neu starte funktioniert dann Alles. Bisher auch egal auf welchen Device. Windows Appletv oder iPhone. Ab und zu friert der Stream auf dem Apple tv auch einfach ein. Ähnliche Problem wenn ich das Virtuell TV Plugin benutze. Manchmal funktioniert es sofort und manchmal will der Stream nicht starten ohne die APP per Hand zu schließen. Ist dieses Verhalten normal für Emby ? Ich tue mich aktuell schwer für sowas Premium zu bezahlen. Wie sind da eure Erfahrungen ?

Do you have any firewall or similar software which might be blocking your access to mb3admin.com? That's required for Premiere to validate itself. Paul

@LukeApologies, didn't had the time to reply sooner. I'm using Emby Beta but the issue for side arrows is with Theater. However, when scottpro post the solution, it didn't worked for me, at same time last night it did work. I noticed a new issue -> side arrows do work but all watched Movies or TV Series still appear, normally after I watch say a Movie and go back to Home, the "latest Movie" segment that specific Movie the poster is no longer there, after your update only under Theater still showed up, weird.. Again the scrolling arrows issue last nigh was working.

Roku behaves very badly if it sees a forced flag; I use a little script to remove them from MKV files in bulk. Paul

Check if any of the subtitle streams have the forced flag set, and if so remove it from all of them using MKVToolNix. Roku is well-known for behaving strangely when there are any forced flags set. Paul

It seems there is a lot of sh*t going on. Didn't even know this existed until I stumbled over it: [redacted] Most of them also offer Emby Shares in the Jelly sub. It seems there was also a subreddit r/embyshares, but it got closed due to copyright. So I bet lots of the One-Posters come over from this area...

Hmm, seems like this works on the native and web apps but not on the Apple TV app.

Any update on the audio only capability? I enjoy listening to documentaries while I work, and having it native on android auto while I drove would be very convenient for playtime tracking

The cleanup is really nice and will be a huge timesaver! Is there a limit on how much it's pulling? I have a bunch of junk tags in various sections it's not showing. there's a bunch in movies it's also not displaying. I've come up against an issue which I think is tied to the fact the app is running in a web wrapper. On films with 8 channel audio the app produces no sound. Regardless of audio codec, anything 8 channel is silent. When I play the same films via DLNA using the TV's built in video player the audio works. I think whatever browser version the app is utilising doesn't have the appropriate codecs or capabilities to support 8 channel audio. Would it be possible to add a "force downmix to 2.0/5.1" function to the app so this can be mitigated?

I am currently in the process of creating myself a js script for discord notifications. I created a Trending channel and it gathers info and posts to relevant channel. my issue is that Monk appears to show 19604 plays from 1 user. This is not correct i know for sure. Is this a common issue, which would then render my script for trending pointless.
