I call the mount points from emby, I don't map any so whatever your emby is configured with is what my plugin will use. The user it runs up in is the one emby is using as it's invoked from there I run emby in a docker on unraid and don't have any of those issues with the plugins

No problem if your are busy - Now I know Yeah, rights, I would say too but it's just your plugin(s) who are throwing this messages and who don't work after the smb settings instead of local mapped swap. All the other can save (images, nfo files) without issues on my server over smb collection settings - else I wouldn't ask and would look somewhere else... The collections is even configured with the main admin user to be sure that it's not a hidden issue somewhere with permissions but nothing changed with that option - and more rights like the main admin I don't think there is... When I map the network drive locally it works too but I don't want that as if I ever have to change the Emby Server it would lead into rebuilding the collections and over smb directly on my Media NAS this isn't the case (I recently swapped and saw how easy it was compared to what I had before) I asked AI about it: That is fatal. The plugin is trying to treat the SMB path as if it were a local filesystem path starting with “smb:/...”, which Linux does not recognize. This means: The plugin is not using proper SMB mounts It tries to write to /opt/emby-server/smb: …which is obviously invalid.

Nah, sorry pal, just really busy with work at the min. Your logs show Access to the path '/opt/emby-server/smb:' is denied. ---> System.IO.IOException: Permission denied --- End of inner exception stack trace So you're running into permissions there pal.

Hopefully this will work, firstly understand why they want to stay on share account, just in case you not aware (I don’t know which plug in is best. Cause building my emby server for friends & family now) their plugin’s now that allow if have separate accounts. To see what other members watched, other members can suggest, then use ratings, make personalized playlist / suggestions.

I find it highly ironic and amusing how half the Emby population are rampaging to the devs about how IPTV is broken and not fit for purpose… (it might be for all I know ) Then we have the other half happily re-selling their servers to the world who come here asking for help! As for Emby and advertising. I feel like it’s a battle we don’t even know what it is we are fighting for. I feel everyone who has and values their own content and wants to centrally manage it and deliver it to lots of different clients/machines locally and remote - well they will have already come across Emby. The number of people who have ripped dvds and blurays is decreasing year on year now, that bubble has kinda burst I feel, for the mainstream anyway. I’m sure there are kids who want to feel they are retro and are treating dvds like vinyl… Jellyfin - anyone going there is because of some feature that is missing here, there’s probably a good reason why Emby doesn’t have it so that will never change. Plex - they have the out of the box ‘free’ content to get people started. As well as the 3rd party integrations. That’s the draw I feel, it leads to extravagant flashy claims and screenshots. When someone looks at Emby and downloads it and they realise it’s an empty shell, that they have to fill it with content themselves - well you’ve lost them as they don’t understand the point of it. Do we as Emby want to go down that route? The first thing most of us would do is turn that crap off/disable it. The rest will feel Emby isn’t for them anymore. On the upside it would demolish plex. Honestly, I don’t know how the devs cope with competing directions they are being pulled in day-in day-out. They do an amazing job.

It would be nice if we could hide the actors for whom no picture was found. Is that possible?

That's OK, I just wanted to know exact library setup within Emby for which endpoints to use. All clear now, I should have an update within the hour.

In 4.10+ you can but other versions you can't as you can only remove access. Quick example from My Media Now this unchecked library can only be access via side Navbar or search.

No. My music library is just: \\DS218PLUS\music. In the PM the example paths are direct copy+paste from Windows and Emby. Dev would have to comment further on why there are issues with avi transcoding. I personally saw issues with avi (XVID) files a long time ago and just converted all of them to h264 mp4 so they would direct play instead of transcoding.

Are those folders added separately/individually as Music library paths?

@GrimReaper I think I may have some clues on this as well, but not 100% sure??? In Emby 4.8 you could fetch AlbumArtists, Artists and Composers via the API with standard queries. But in Emby 4.9, the same queries no longer worked and returned AlbumArtists+Artists+Composers for all three individial fetches. But, when User_ID was added to the queries, they worked again. Just mentioning in case it helps you out for anything??? As per post above, I've hidden the "All" option.

Hallo Zusammen, ich habe seit einigen Monaten das Problem, dass mit bestimmten "Chromecast Built In"-Lautsprechern keine Cast-To -Verbindung aus der Emby-Android App heraus möglich ist. -Emby-Server läuft auf Windows 11, Android Emby App auf Android Tablet und zeigt korrekt die Emby Musik-Bibliothek, welche auf Windows liegt/läuft. - Android App hat oben rechts den "Cast-To"- Button. -Habe 7 "Chromecast Built-In" -Lautsprecher , also W-Lan Lautsprecher. Somit auch diverse Lautsprecher -Gruppen. -Mit folgenden Lautsprechern stellt die Emby-App keine Cast-To Verbindung her: -Teufel Motiv Home & JBL Bommbox 3 WiFi = Antippen Cast-To-Button in Emby-App / Blauer Verbindungskreis dreht sich / Es erfolgt sogar der Bestätigungs "Klong" - Ton, aber das Cast-To-Symbol bleibt schwarz ( was ansonsten innen ja weiss wird, wenn verbunden) und er verbindet sich nicht -Mit folgenden Lautsprechern klappt es jedoch -Harman Kardon Citation 200 & Citation 300, inkl der mit diesen Lautsprechern erstellten Lautsprecher- Gruppen Auffällig ist weiterhin, dass mit folgenden Android Apps ALLE Lautsprecher die Cast-To Verbindung herstellen können (inkl. Lautsprecher-Gruppen) -Bubble-UPNP / Pulsar Music Player App Es scheint also an irgendetwas bzgl Emby zu liegn. Hat jemand eine Idee oder Erfahrung was das Problem sein könnte, oder evtl was falsches eingestellt in Emby-Server auf Windows ? Vielen Dank im voraus!!!!!
