Hello again. I got this working, so this can be marked as completed. The fix was to run the /Configdata folder for Emby Server on the LOCAL SSD storage on a persistent folder mapped in the Docker YAML file on my Mini-PC/Docker instead of using CIFs shares for everything on my NAS. Synology doesn't recommend running SQLite-type databases that require locking on a CIFs shares, especially in mixed client OS environments, since they can be fragile. The Backup plugin works fine with this configuration and it can push the backup files to the NAS CIFs share. I tried a number of lower level FSTAB mods on the client and changing some of the SMB2/SMB3 options on the NAS but the only thing that worked was moving the /Configdata to SSD. The whole point for keeping the /Configdata and the media shares on the NAS was because that was protected and there wasn't a single point of failure problem. I can still keep my no-single-point-of-failure by having the backup files pushed to the NAS. Side benefit, performance is better with Emby Server having the database on SSD. BAZINGA !

I try on my tv, in folder view, when I click on the film, I had to click a second time and then I arrive at the film's page (synopsis, cast, etc.).

A comparison of screenshots. One showing how you expect this, which in this case is Android. Then the other being Roku, where you think something is wrong. It could be multiple things causing it, but seeing the screenshots would confirm exactly what thing is happening.

It would be nice to be able to filter out the noise when looking at the "Alerts" page in the dashboard. Often I will visit the dashboard and see there is a request to restart the server for an update but I have to wade thru so much stuff about recording start, recording started, failed login attempt, etc just to see what was updated... a plugin or the server itself. If it was a plugin was it one that is heavily used so best for me to find a time or just let it sit til I am ready. A filter would help a lot in this use case.

Is there a reason Roku is displaying the Background images as the Title images for libraries? The opposite of Android, just wondered if there was a reason.

4.10.1.0 is now available on TrueNAS. I just updated and seems to be working fine.

I haven't been able to replicate the above issue anymore but here's a couple more issues I'm experiencing that I've never had problems with before; all within the IOS app. Bug 1 = Tonemapping/Color Issue: If I play a movie that has TrueHd audio track, there is incorrect tonemapping for colors (even though im pretty sure the video isn't supposed to be touched as dolby vision is support on iPhone 17 (and I've always been able to play with no issues in the past, without the video being transcoded or defaulting to HDR). There is a green hue that shows up over the entire image. If I change the audio track to eac3 (my compatibility tracks), the audio transcoding stops but the colors of the video are still greenish hue. It only resets the colors to "correct" if I exit the video and play again with the secondary compatible audio track (no audio transcoding, but still directly dolby vision profile 8.1). This all used to work flawlessly with the same files, so it's something that seems to have been introduced recently. Bug 2 = Audio issue: If I select a different audio while a movie is playing (particularly while one is being transcoded, and switching to my compatibility tracks), the video starts over from the beginning. Hi, Running Emby for LG 1.0.51 This week, pressing Play or Trailer on any of my items does not do anything. I can go into menus, favorite items, delete, etc.. but anything related trying to play is unresponsive. I've attempted on multiple users, and forgetting and re-entering server info. I also have a SHIELD device that is connected to the same TV, and that has no issues. Any idea what might be happening, or how to remedy it?

Also the new home screen flexibility can allow you to attack this issue in a number of ways. For example, my spotlight row is currently setup to show movies and shows sorted by "Last episode added" which makes any new series episode get spotlighted.

Hi, yes it's just for the folder view (it's ok with others : Movies, Suggestions, Trailers, ...) In folder view, when I click on the film, I arrive at the film's page (synopsis, cast, etc.) and there all is ok, identification is correct.

Are you sure you've fully investigated permissions?

Sometimes a series goes a year or more without releasing new episodes. When new episodes finally come out, the series can be buried at the end of the Continue Watching list. You might notice it once, plan to watch it later, and then completely forget about it. It would be useful if the context menu for a series included options such as “Add to Watchlist” and “Move to First Position in Watchlist.” This would essentially let you pin a series to the front of the list as a reminder that you want to come back to it."

I still don't get what is so impressive about Omarchy. Other than the authors' notoriety there is nothing truly unique about it. It's Arch with Hyprland and AI agent integration and opinionated configuration (dotfiles). If anyone other than DHH had published github.com/randomlinuxguy/my-hyprland-dots , I doubt it would be as big of a deal. Me personally I wouldn't trust an AI agent to make system changes unless very carefully sandboxed. But I get the allure when transitioning away from Windows to Linux and needing help. Workflow on tiling window managers is vastly different than the Windows paradigm. That being said, I am glad it is getting enough attention to attract new users to Linux. And hopefully in time those users come around to making the desktop environment or shell more personalized themselves and truly appreciate the privacy and lack of advertising in their OS. Now, to your post about your library, this is precisely why many people prefer to keep data in their media folders (NFO files, artwork, .actors, ...) instead of the server handling their metadata scraping. If my emby server died tomorrow, I could install it on a new machine, point it at my library, do a scan, and everything would be pretty much how it was before. If you allow the server to re-scrape all data from online sources, you will get that data right OR wrong. It's so incredibly common to have IMDb/TMDB/TVDB with incorrect information or simiarly named actors merged or jumbled. IMDb generally has the most accurate data, but they also disabled scraping from many applications. This whole situation is why I had to make AgentNFO so I could correct my actors and their images.

You should be able to access them from the sidebar too.

Hi, my Emby Server was working normally yesterday, but today I can’t connect to it from my iPhone or Mac. The server address is 192.168.1.100:8096. I get the error “Unable to Reach Server”. Could you please help me figure out why the server is no longer reachable? Thank you.

I don't have a point from when the problem occurred, I can only assume it has never worked, I've always had all libraries selected and it's never been there. I have a log from doing a fresh restart of the server and then immediately performing a full library scan. For shits n giggles I just created a new user and playlists does appear on the home screen for that user, so it's something to do with my main admin user account. embyserver.txt

Thank you. I opened Emby in my phone 2 days later and it and continued the process. I just let it run to get cleared but it took at least 20 seconds per episode to attempt the download, mark as failed and then progress to the next episode for the same thing. Queued downloads behind the canceled ones downloaded fine. Not ideal when it has to work through about 80 files

Can you be more specific Luke? I can't tell what the changes are just by looking at the app.
