Emby 2.0.3 Apple TV 4K – Emby app crashes during playback (Direct Play) with no server errors

Yes I did , all is auto-update I even manually checked all latest versions -
appas started following Module support
-
Hey, I am writing to request playback support for module files (.mod, .xm, .it, etc). Currently, Emby tries to play these but fails. There are several C# .NET libraries for mod playback, eg. SharpMik: https://github.com/thegouldfish/SharpMik I would be interested in fulfilling this need as a plugin, but I did not find any information on how to get the currently playing audio stream into a plugin. If someone can help me with this, then maybe I will be able to write a plugin for this purpose. Or are playback decoder plugins even possible? Alternatively, please tell me how to have Emby ignore module files in folders marked as Music. As I said, currently, mod files in my music folders get an attempted play, that results in an error message. I would primarily like to fix this error message by having a plugin that provides the playback capabilities, but if that's not possible, I would like at least to be able to avoid the error messages, which also stop playback! For reference, attached is the error I'm getting.

I'm pretty sure this has already been requested (multiple times), but for the life of me I couldn't find those FR's. Regardless, here goes: Currently Chrome and browsers alike support handling notifications. Emby Server uses this for the dashboard on it's own to send messages from the browser to the admin, which is nice. Android and iOS have similar permission-based notification systems so the question arises; 1. Why isn't it possible to send push notifications to users (to notify them of new release for example, or scheduled maintenance, etc)? 2. Is this on the roadmap and if not, is this something we will see in the (somewhat) near future? I feel Emby would really benefit from this.
-
this is an emby thing, you can solve for it with the latest beta, and their new Dynamic Content home row, selecting just the libraries you want to include (ie do not include the aperture libraries and you wont have dupes in continue watching)
-
thanks for the feedback, I will get it fixed and redeployed

Cuando añado un vídeo temático en una serie de tv el vídeo se ve con una capa de negro con semi transparencia que oscurece mucho el vídeo de fondo. Hay alguna opción o alguna forma de evitar que esa capa oscurezca tanto el vídeo?

slow audio-desync buildup on android/fire tv and dts-hd
syxlox replied to syxlox's topic in General/Windows
hi. did you had any chance taking a look? had another media lately, same issue; as said dts-hd in general is buggy or not playing at all. as also said kodi plays all my media just fine, but UX just isnt as good. -
I managed to fix it: Modify /setup/schemas.ts and replace line 362 with: enum: ['sync-movies', 'sync-series', 'sync-movie-watch-history', 'sync-series-watch-history', 'enrich-movies', 'enrich-series', 'embed-movies', 'embed-series', 'generate-movie-embeddings', 'generate-series-embeddings', 'generate-movie-recommendations', 'generate-series-recommendations', 'sync-movie-libraries', 'sync-series-libraries', 'refresh-top-picks'] It’s now up and running. I did run into one bug though: if I enable recommendations for a user and then disable that user in Emby, they still keep getting recommendation updates. Another thing (more of a feature request than an issue): would it be possible to automatically delete the libraries created for a user when they are disabled in Emby, or when recommendations are turned off for them? I also noticed that it creates two “Continue Watching” sections in Emby. I remember reading somewhere that it might be related to how Emby handles duplicate names or something like that, but I’m not sure if there’s a proper fix or workaround. Anyway, thanks for this awesome tool!

Kyouma started following Poster for custom collections?

Hello, i have started to put my Anime into Season Collections, for example Winter 2026 or Spring 2026. I am looking for some ideas for a Poster for the collections. Something simple yet distinct. Here some examples:: And these are the new ones, but feel like something is off These are obviosly AI generated as i am not very creative or crafty in this field. Anyone have any Ideas?

emby-vainfo and emby-clinfo segfault due to LD_LIBRARY_PATH overriding system libraries
gbcox posted a topic in Linux
Fedora 43 emby-server 4.10.0.8 The wrapper scripts /opt/emby-server/bin/emby-vainfo and /opt/emby-server/bin/emby-clinfo crash because they set: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/emby-server/lib:/opt/emby-server/extra/lib Reproduction as emby user: sudo -u emby env -i /opt/emby-server/extra/bin/vainfo -> works sudo -u emby env -i LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/emby-server/lib:/opt/emby-server/extra/lib /opt/emby-server/extra/bin/vainfo -> segmentation fault sudo -u emby env -i /opt/emby-server/extra/bin/clinfo -> runs sudo -u emby env -i LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/emby-server/lib:/opt/emby-server/extra/lib /opt/emby-server/extra/bin/clinfo -> segmentation fault This indicates the crash is caused by Emby’s bundled libraries forced by LD_LIBRARY_PATH, not by the system VA-API/OpenCL stack. -
Hello. I'm experiencing the same issue with subtitles positioned in the upper left corner for some time. Is there any ETA for a fix? I've temporarily switched to another streaming app but it's frustrating to be forced to do this. Thank you.

Hola, he probado con versiones anteriores y no se puede instalar, da error ¿es error de mi television?, he podido instalar la version 2.3.3 para probar si el fallo de los subtitulos se corrige, un saludo.

Agree. But maybe it will give the devs some ideas for a report system that does.

F SERIE WITH SEEDBOX : JELLYFLIN Server Error 403

And it should not be, as JellyFin forked from Emby long ago. As said, if you have any issues with Emby, server or client apps, the community would gladly try to assist. Else: JF forums. -

Hello When I enter my seedbox subscription login information on the login page and submit it, I get a 403 error (see attached image). I noticed that the underscore symbol "_" doesn't exist on the TV, could that be the problem? (I entered it using a USB keyboard.) Because I can't change my login, it's provided by the seedbox provider. any idea ? TV => UE40F6500

Hola @Luke¿se sabe algo de la actualizacion? ¿podria usar la version anterior de la aplicacion para Samsung Tv?, un saludo.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on called Zerk Play. It’s a custom Windows desktop front-end for Emby designed specifically for those who want a "lean-back" experience on a big screen without the overhead of a full browser. What makes it different? Native Direct Play: Powered by media_kit / mpv on Windows, so it handles almost any codec natively without forcing your server to transcode. *Built-in seerr Integration: Seamlessly browse and request content via Overseerr/Jellyseerr directly within the app. If you don't have it, you can request it in one click. Couch-Friendly UI: Designed for fast browsing and high-visibility artwork. Dynamic Recommendations: Includes "Because you watched" and "Trending" rows pulled from your Emby history and *seerr instance. Features: Full Search (Library + Requests) Skip Intro & Autoplay support Multi-language UI (English & Romanian + more to come) Built-in Auto-updater I'm currently focused on the Windows build, but an Android TV version is high on the roadmap and with other versions being considered! Check out the repo for screenshots and the latest release: GitHub

Thanks. Yes, music often depends on the transcoder. I'll test this tomorrow.
