New Emby for Android 3.5.64 Released

  3. To be fair, I'm glad that a feature like this was implemented so quickly. Having the base integrated makes it a lot easier to to build on it instead of injecting the complete codebase. Perhaps some stuff like Spotlight height, Logo and Plot or tagline positioning + Trailer support will make it into Emby officially someday. We never know.

Show the path info when in a movie or series

TV shows never had it, as there's no tracks info. But true, maybe basics: path/size/Date Added should be displayed as well.

Show the path info when in a movie or series

Just because I don't want to create a new topic... In the browser is there a way to group all episodes into their season? On mine they're one long row. I rather have it like in a app. Where it has season pic with ep count in upper right corner. Is there a way to do that in the browser? instead of looking like the pic.

Show the path info when in a movie or series

On mine it was selected. It just doesn't show it under series. You have to go into each episode. I think it should show under about. So it is easier to locate and read IMO.

    Playlists

@GrimReaper It's not in the sidebar either. @ebrPermissions fully investigated @Luke Saved permissions again, no change. Don't put any more effort into this guys, I can access it from adding it as a Home Section which is good enough, and clearly all the easy fixes haven't worked. What I wanted to use it for (making a TV show list for another user) is actually better served as adding a new collection (which I didn't know were global).

New Emby for Android 3.5.64 Released

    Where?
  11. Emby has stop and fails to record programs sellected directly on the "Guide", but does continue to sucessfully record the series programs that have been and remain on its schedule. I just updated the Dashboard on my QNAP TS-253Be (QTS 5.2.10.3577) to Emby ver. 4.10.1.0, and on Saturday night, Oct. 03, I have a recording "Scheduled" that was sellected directly on the "Guide". I will inform if it was sucesfully recorded, or if the anamoly continues.

Live tv section on home screen

the Live TV section is controlled via Feature Access for the user, so when you say you have permissions checked off - can you show us what that looks like?

Live tv section on home screen

How do I remove the live tv section from my Home Screen on Apple TV? There is no option for it in the web app and yes I have premiere and I also have permissions checked off.
  14. Hi, yes what he mentioned about the new home screens is now available in the 4.10 release.
  15. That signals to me that the LG player isn't handling it, although I'm surprised you're not getting an error message.

    Update broke Emby

Updated Emby yesterday on LG and still the same. Simple SRT subtitles just do not play on LG. Playback stops. No problems on my Samsungs - 32", 55" and 75" with SRT subs. Yes, my NAS is slow so I can't transcode at all - so using ASS subs is not possible on any my TVs, I just use SRT subs and no problem. Made a script to transcode multiple ASS to SRT at once on my computer so that is ok.
  17. Hi All - I have been using Emby way back since the MediaBrowser days, and my biggest issue has always been the lack of smart playlist functionality. I have used a number of the smart playlist plugins that have been released in the past, but could never quite get them to work the way I liked. About a year ago I was poking around jellyfin and saw that a dev released a SmartList plugin that did everything (and more) that I was looking for, and worked great. Since then I've been using jellyfin for music and emby for everything else, but always wanted to consolidate everything back under emby. To that end, I used claude to port the JF plugin to work with emby, and after extensive testing on my system, I figured I would post the port here as well in case others find it useful. The original JF plugin repo can be found here: https://github.com/jyourstone/jellyfin-smartlists-plugin My forked repo with the emby compatible port and dll download can be found here: https://github.com/feerlessleadr/emby.smartlists the install instructions and dlls can be found in the repo. As I mentioned above and in the repo, I exclusively used claude to port the JF plugin to emby, and while I had claude run multiple iterations of testing and security reviews, I'm at best just a hobbyist and not a developer, so if you are not comfortable with that, please do not use this. Mods, if this is not appropriate, please feel free to delete this post. All credit for this plugin goes to jyourstone on github, as all I did was use claude to port this to emby. Hopefully others find this helpful as well.
  18. Ok, had a chance to test this. It appears when I disable "Allow audio transcoding to a compatible format, if necessary, during media playback" for a user and try to play an opus track then the Emby for LG app just shows a loading spinner indefinitely and does not play (or change to the Now Playing view).

    TrueNas Scale

It finally showed for me too. Because of things like this has anyone ever gone from the FreeBSD version of TrueNAS to Linux and found the container system to be too limiting and decided to use this FreeCORE install?? I'm still highly agitated that they pulled WebDAV out of the product, in their words, to "make it easier". If anyone has "gone back", I'd be interested in hearing your experience. https://freecore.org/

    VirtualTV plugin

The easiest way I have found that works great for me, and i have a massive library, 20+yrs collecting and over 3000 media tv full seasons and episodes and movies with sequels an adding bc I have a current whats on TV now. all my channels are in collections and playlist and i just choose what ever playlist or collections I am gonna use then under rules in virtual TV (now I did have to go an build the playlist , but i kept it simple, if a TV show had more than 5 seasons in got its own channel, great for binge watching) just using Rules I could never get anything to play so I Figured out you have to choose a rule - playlist or collections, works great for me using continuous playback and making an API key for virtual TV for Roku then it works on there to. I just love Virtual TV have all this media that I would never be able to watch it all and now in Virtual TV it displays it in a format that I can channel surf , Greatly appreciated pünktchen very well done!

Displaying Wrong images - Or maybe not.

@tedfroop21 Thanks for the images. I can see how and where this can happen. There will be a fix pushed to address this.

    Guidance about using IPTV

Checking back in running 4.10.0.40 now. It finally dawned on me that the reason I have had issues with Live TV is due to the fly by night cable stealers that I have been signing up with and paying in crypto currency for the xtream codes panels. Lol. They are stealing cable, so that means I am stealing cable too by supporting them. I have a couple of reliable partners since I am a history channel addict and I speak other languages. I have justified getting the content and have a couple of services that have been decent and do drop streams regularly. Be careful out there. I tried a service recently that worked great for the trial period. I signed up and they never honored my payment and did not respond to my support requests. They are criminal enterprises. Maybe not sign up for unlimited accounts or year long subscriptions, go month to month or quarterly instead so you don't get robbed as badly. The IPTV providers will come online and go offline, switch urls, try to stay in business for as long as they can until they rebrand and come back online as a completely different shell company. The HDHomeRun works great. The Emby Guide data for it works great. I have channels DVR setup with its TV Everywhere integration that works with my local cable provider, directv, slingtv and a bunch of other legitimate providers some of them offering free services of basic cable programming. Also helpful is the m3u4u.com that parses the huge M3U lists for Live TV and presents the updated M3U without series and movies making the lists consumable by the media servers and VLC. There are a couple of curated lists supported on github that can be used and there are rogue streaming servers in those lists and many of the channels are spotty so I have stopped using them. The Hyper-V VMs are set up with differencing disks on a 256GB RAM drive on the server. I also convert the M3U to strm files that sync to a mounted samba share on the virtual machine and it brings in the media library store over the network. Curating multiple m3u lists from multiple providers can add up to millions of strm files to manage. I just added a new batch and am watching Emby closely to see how if performs fully loaded with the series strms folder containing over 1 million strm files, 100000 movie strms, 30000 tv strms each a dedicated library mount. The iphone and android apps work really well on the connected devices, works great on a Pi connected to a TV using the browser... the nginx reverse proxies and serves the app on port 80, really solid over the VPN. Hours of fun plowed into this so thank you guys for building it. My wish list for Emby is simple, a dummy guide that fills in the missing epg time slots and a go to live edge like clicking on the timeline to restart the streams that drop. Also it would be great to not use the channels dvr separate machine, if Emby could have its own TV Everywhere like interface for Live TV so we would not need the secondary services at all. Thanks so much! I hope this helps.
