Hi Mahinepua, Thank you for the clarity and guidance. I got MS store installed and used it to install EMBY. Unfortunately I got the same error so I decided to start digging a bit deeper. It turns out that MS Store really messes with permissions on the installation folders. For some reason the ADMINISTRATOR group only get assigned "READ CONTENTS". I tried to take ownership and change but no luck. I did notice that USERS had READ, EXECUTE etc. So I created a new user installed EMBY again and it works! The lesson then is install EMBY on Windows Server 2025 as a USER not as ADMINISTRATOR.

I've only noticed this issue in Emby for Android TV (tested with versions 3.5.28 and 3.5.55) while playing music. The workaround I mentioned is to open Emby in a web browser on the TV. When using the browser, the TV doesn't turn off after some time.

Not sure I've quite understood what you're asking, as it appears you've found both of those settings: if you want NFOs to just be read, on a per-library basis: leave NFO Metadata Reader enabled and NFO Metadata Saver disabled/toggled-off.

yes, add an option to turn this off.... but on another note it's not working properly I guess.... Every library where I use strm files or symlinks almost every folder is the old way without that gray... When I make a library also using strm or symlink with tags to use vantage point the gray folders show... At first I thought maybe the folder dimensions weren't proper... no idea now.

Hi! Exactly where do i find both of these? In server library settings i find read AND write to nfo. And in individual library settings i see the option to save as nfo or not (disable/enable) I would like the setup to be like @GrimReaper mentioned in another post with Emby just reading nfo files and not writing as i use an external scraper that writes nfo:s. Thanks for the prompt response. in my config i see this setting which would seem to be what you are refering to. presumably i need to enable it but the description "limits 1 user to 1 channel" would indicate to me that i will loose the multiple connections per client that i am allowed. or am i miss reading it? in my current config my emby tuner is using a Client link to connect to the HLS-Proxy m3u8 that is then mapped to the remote playlist. What i am after is that when the once the max number of streams is reached in hls proxy, instead of killing the oldest stream, the new connection attempt from emby is blocked.

Thank you, Yeah i tried to use the playlist option, but the default appearance is in list form for playlist, which makes sense for music, but not movies. If there was a an option at end of the Dynamic rows, or collections, to where after you get passed 24 the next option is a button or tag that says see more. Click on the see more button, which then takes you to that collection, or another screen that displays all the movies you have for that row, collection. This might be more of a feature request now.

So the same problem is occurring in Emby for Android TV?

Its not supposed to and I don't see why it would "kill" any other app on the device either. Double-click the home button and you'll probably see them all still running.

You are positive it is also a problem on the phone? Do you have a proxy for remote connections?

If you removed them while looking at them that is the same. Where the edit or change originated probably wouldn't matter because the apps receive notifications of a library change no matter where that may occur.

Hi all, I’ve been building Okuzukey, a metadata plugin for Emby designed for books, comics, manga, and light novels. What it does: - Local metadata grabber: Supports NFO, Calibre metadata.opf (or an EPUB’s internal OPF if no sidecar exists), and ComicInfo.xml inside .cbz/.cbr. - Covers: Uses local sidecar images if present; otherwise, it extracts them directly from inside .cbz/.cbr/.epub. - Optional Komga integration: Connect to your own Komga server (opt-in, off by default) to fetch metadata and covers. - Performance tweaks: Configurable logging levels and Komga request concurrency. What it doesn’t do: - No embedded metadata/covers for formats like PDF, MOBI, or AZW3 (though sidecar NFO/OPF/covers still work perfectly for them). - No public online sources (Google Books, ComicVine, AniList, etc.) - dealing with rate limits and weak free-text matching wasn’t worth it for now. Emby limitations (not by the plugin): The Book item type in Emby currently has a limited field set. For example, it lacks a proper series name field or People/Authors display in the UI. While the plugin successfully parses writers and artists from your files, Emby simply doesn’t display them for books yet. Here's a video of a metadata refresh with a bit over 2500 random books (epub, cbr, cbz) - everything local on Windows (both the server and the files), which is why the refresh took less than 25 seconds to read it all, including covers. okuzukey.mp4 Tested on: Windows Emby Server 4.10.x Installation: 1. Specifically it almost never works. Ever. But you guys know this. Transfer fails. Says ready to transfer and never does. Says it’s transferred but empty container when trying to play. It’s almost like you guys just out the onus on paying users to debug basic functionality.

In the native/remote client path for Emby for Android it looks like emby uses a different global search than it does when your connected locally. When I'm at home and search for a live tv channel on my computer it comes up fine. But when I'm away and using the emby app on my phone or android tv, no results pull up for that same channel. I'm on the latest update for both android tv and my server is on 4.10.0.40
