UPNP setup of Emby Server has suddenly stopped working remotely
ebr replied to Beta8088_Proto's topic in General/Windows
If those two statements are true, then you were not testing properly because Emby Connect is simply using the information from your server to connect directly to it. Were you testing with the WAN address shown on your Emby dashboard? -

Not sure when this happened, but I do see a new version was released and looking at my Emby-Server\Updates folder, it looks like my Emby server auto-upgraded to this version last night. I can access Emby just fine using my Android and Roku apps, but when I attempt to do so on the Emby Server (Windows 11), it takes me to the new setup wizard as if it's a new installation. Both Emby Server and Windows 11 are set to auto-update and this is the only user account on this machine. Emby is NOT running as a service. Any help would be appreciated, as I don't want to have to set this up from scratch as I've been running this for 10+ years now and that would be a pretty big pain lol. EDIT: Was able to get the server paths from the Android Emby app, all the paths are correct.

Atrium — a native tvOS app for your Emby server
Grumpy1 replied to vdatanet's topic in Third Party Apps
loving the updates One suggestion on the continue watching (episodes). Not sure if the name of the show is needed along side the season and episode number , it is right above the logo so kinda just repeats it . infuse and even emby doesn't have it and think it looks better . Just my opinion though -

library no longer appears in Continue Watching after upgrading to Emby 4.10.0.40
Deihmos replied to Deihmos's topic in General/Windows
I just disabled “Include Next Up Episode,” and all of the partially watched shows immediately appeared in Continue Watching. When I enable that option again, they disappear. Is this the intended behavior? -
library no longer appears in Continue Watching after upgrading to Emby 4.10.0.40
Deihmos replied to Deihmos's topic in General/Windows
I’ll get some more details when I get a chance. When I add only one TV library containing my recordings, partially watched shows appear correctly in Continue Watching. These recordings are not organized into season folders. The issue starts when I add a second TV show library. Once that library is added, the recordings from the first library stop appearing in Continue Watching. The shows in the second library are organized into season folders. This setup worked fine before Emby 4.10. -

Atrium — a native tvOS app for your Emby server
vdatanet replied to vdatanet's topic in Third Party Apps
Atrium 1.91 is on the App Store, and it's your list — all five of them. Groups in the guide. Live TV and Channels had the filter and the Guide didn't, and it was worse than it looked: the grid was already being filtered by whatever group you had picked in the other view, with no way to see that from there or undo it. The pill is in the guide now, next to favourites and sorting. The gap before the first programme. You were right, it was zero — the spacing between programmes comes from each block being drawn a little narrower, and the first one had nothing to be narrow against. It matches the others now. The timebar goes to the end of the grid. It stopped short before. It now runs from the hours down to the last channel row, and no further: with six channels it used to carry on into empty black. Collections. The screen no longer jumps when you open one, and you can always get back to the top — that was a focus dead end, not a scrolling problem: there was nothing above the posters to move up to. The page now looks like a film's: backdrop across the screen, title over it, the titles it holds below, and the text at the size the rest of the app uses. Collections without their own backdrop borrow one from a film inside. And you can mark a collection as a favourite. The highlight colour, and this one is your design: unselected stuff has no colour, with a white border. Selection stays white, and blue is now kept for what's actually switched on — watched, favourites, the season you picked, the filters in use. Before, every button was blue, so the blue said nothing. One thing you asked that I could answer: the buttons looking different on your 1080p set wasn't the resolution. Two Apple TVs, same tvOS, different generations — the system was drawing those buttons and drew them differently on each. That's why they're drawn by the app now, and why they look the same on both. As always: what's missing or wrong, say it here. -

Tells me I need a password to my own account for my server
speechles replied to Donovan1's topic in Android Server
To make this entirely clear. You have used the tutorial below, right? https://emby.media/support/articles/Admin-Password-Reset.html After resetting the password the URL given to you is leading to the error that you lack permission? -
@ebr And this is exactly where we disagree. You say there is “not enough benefit” to warrant further development. But that isn't an objective technical conclusion — it's your assessment of how much those benefits are worth relative to the number of users who would use them. @vdatanet has just described several situations himself where Direct File Access can provide an actual advantage. So I think we've moved beyond the question of whether benefits exist at all. They clearly can. The remaining question is how much value Emby assigns to those benefits and to the users who want them. And that's the part I don't agree with. Direct File Access existed, it worked, and I used it successfully myself. It wasn't abandoned because it was technically useless or because HTTP made it functionally impossible. Android changed, maintaining the feature became less attractive, and Emby decided that the number of users benefiting from it didn't justify the effort. That's your development decision to make. But I'm equally entitled to challenge the reasoning behind that decision — especially as a user who actually used the feature and found it valuable enough to downgrade an entire Shield just to retain it. So no, from my perspective there is still something to discuss. Saying “there is not enough benefit” doesn't settle the question; it simply states Emby's current position on it. And positions can be reconsidered.

It's not in the catalogue. Check the plug-ins section of the forum. -
Tells me I need a password to my own account for my server
Donovan1 replied to Donovan1's topic in Android Server
Yes, the website was your emby community or the website itself that helps you install it on to your device. The emby server is installed on a Nvidia Shield Pro, and when I go to find the document on how to reset the password, it says i have no permission to access the directory. This is the help I need, I need a way to get that file so reset the password or a way to just start from the beginning, even if I have to uninstall everything and make a new account. -
UPNP setup of Emby Server has suddenly stopped working remotely
Beta8088Proto replied to Beta8088_Proto's topic in General/Windows
None have succeeded historically or currently for WAN access (as previously stated) and/or are not practical to accomplish and/or are already set as per the suggestions. And I can access over LAN just fine, and Emby connect worked fine for over a year until yesterday, when it suddenly quit working. -
UPNP setup of Emby Server has suddenly stopped working remotely
ebr replied to Beta8088_Proto's topic in General/Windows
Hi. All UPnP does is automatically create the port forwarding rules in your router. Whether created that way or manually by you, that is how access to your server inside your network is achieved. Also, Emby Connect is just an easy way to arrive at your server. Technically, it is doing the exact same thing as you manually connecting to it. If you run the troubleshooting steps here: Connecting from Client Apps which ones succeed and which fail? -
@adrianwiHave you tried upgrading your jail? iocage upgrade <jail_name> Works fine on vanilla FreeBSD 13.5 here. Going to try TrueNAS when I get home.

Additional detail: Connecting with a PIN on Emby Connect still does not work. I provided Emby Connect with the correct PIN and hitting "NEXT" does nothing. This is almost certainly Emby Connect not working. -

Any idea what section that is under? There is unfortunately no search in the catalog. I checked General and Top and did not see it. -

The Home Screen Companion plug-in is probably what you're looking for. -
@LukeHey Luke sorry to revive this old thread but it's happened again. I'm not sure why when Emby signs me out and I'm being told my password is invalid. It looks like I'll have to force reset again but I'm not sure if anyone else has had a similar problem? To clarify, this is my login for my emby server. Thanks

Hi @Lukeis there any update on pushing a newer update through Scale? We're still on 4.9.5.0. I have had a fairly serious issue now twice where ffmpeg fails to terminate and runs all night while I sleep. The common factors are: DV P7.6, PGS subtitles and a 3rd Gen FireTV Cube. I have too many rips to convert all subs to subrips. I have woken twice to the nice surprise of seeing some of my Intel 13th Gen Cores cooking at near 90C and CPU at 65%. I have added a Cron job to kill ffmpeg if it's running for 2+ hours but it would sure be nice to have this issue patched. Thanks for all of your hard work!

podonnell started following Copy data to users
-
I see this option under Home Sections. I am curious if this will specifically copy just what I have checked off above the button. For example: In the below screenshot, if I click the button, will it copy just the 'On Now' section to home? When I clicked the button, it came up with some Copy options that made me question. But I'm thinking it's just allowing me to also grant access in the same swing? If I wanted to copy only the section I have highlighted, can I uncheck everything under the Copy options? Naturally, if the user didn't have access to some things, they may see limited (or no) content under the new section. Just want to confirm my understanding - thanks!

Feature request: include "favorites" when displaying content in secondary hime screen sections.
vdrover replied to vdrover's topic in General/Windows
I've customized the home screens. I like the fine-grained control introduced in 4.10. The favorites issue is unique. As far as I can tell, it's matching a favorite by IMDB or similar metadata, and returning matches from all libraries. Not so great if there is a mix of local and VOD libraries (attached). Being able to apply fine-grained library control over the favorites would be wonderful. -
From my perspective there is nothing left to discuss at this point in time. There is not enough benefit in this feature to warrant further development at this time.
