Trying to play with this but seem to be stuck at what is the appropriate URL: ://YOUR_EMBY_SERVER_URL/emby/Playlists I have my server on 192.168.0.2. I've tried variations of: http://192.168.0.2:8096/emby/Playlists http://192.168.0.2:8096/web/emby/Playlists http://192.168.0.2/emby/Playlists None are returning any values in the bash command. Sorry if this is an obvious solution I am missing.

This is the golden piece of information I didn't have. I wasn't aware of optional shared network folder. This step should be at least mentioned in the github wiki or the FAQ here. I'll try it later today after work and check if this works with native access.

Normally yes, but if Emby isn't able to read the contents due to encoding, that might cause issues. -

@fabien_m2002I've also had issues before with subtitles being encoded incorrectly, see my previous post: Could it be your srt ile is saved as something other than UTF-8? -
Another big advantage of TMDB as provider option for thumbs would be if your library is set to a different language than English. I noticed that for example in German there are quite a few movies/shows were there is only an English thumb image or no thumb at all on Fanart.tv while TMDB has a backdrop in the correct language. So having TMDB as thumb provider option would be very appreciated.

embyforkodi (next-gen) 12.X.X support
quickmic replied to quickmic's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
Addon mode uses fallback to native mode, when the server cannot handle them. Exactly, the server cannot play iso's (and cannot stream content), therefore Kodi need's access to the file. That's an Emby server limitation. Personally, I never uses iso files. I convert them all but that's up to you. You don't need to edit anything in advancedsettings.xml. You must use the path substitution (or how Emby calls it "Optional shared network folder") on Emby server (not Kodi). I already explained it, the server must report the "correct/modified" path to plugin while sync (every path substitution change on Emby server requires a repair sync on Kodi/plugin). AND Kodi must have access to the folder! As I said, it's tricky I never recommend native mode to anyone. Unfortunately, if you insist using iso's, then Kodi need file access even in addon mode. -
Where do I enter my TheAudioDB Patreon API key?
brothom replied to JulesC's topic in General/Windows
I'm assuming you purchased "Premium" (https://www.theaudiodb.com/pricing)? TheAudioDb is free for general use, unless you want developer priviledges which aren't required for using Emby. The Emby AudioDB Plugin relies on the open (free) API. All you need to do is "enable" the Audio Providers in your Emby Music library and identification should happen automatically. So I have some follow up questions: 1) Who told you to "buy" TheAudioDB? 2) What's the issue you're having? Is music not being identified? Are your songs not showing up in Emby? -
What I don't understand is, if I'm in addon mode, why it's pointing only the iso file to a native path? When I look to other files like mkv, mp4 those all point to http://127.0.0.1. I see this localhost ip in advancedsettings.xml. So I guess this is what your plugging is doing, right? My setup here is running emby server as a docker container on unraid. The path to the files are mapped in docker. I have a very big library that I don't want to rebuild just for path substitution. Also you said iso should work in addon mode. But it needs to correctly map the iso file location. Maybe the solution in my case is manually edit advancedsettings.xml and use native path mode. Give kodi access to smb://unraid server ip. Substitute/downloads/media/data to smb://unraid server ip. My question remains, is this all necessary? Isn't it possible to stream the iso file to kodi over http the same way all other files are streamed in addon mode? And last question, if I go with a manual path substitution, will the plugging keep reverting my manual path if I add or remove libraries from it?

Adding a SDR indicator just to show something is not HDR, which there are indicators for any way, just seems unnecessary and like more clutter. So i don't personally see a use for it and will most likely not add it. Individual filename rule placements on the other hand is an excellent idea and i will look into adding it.

I hope you can add Emby to the Hisense brand TV app store. After all, Hisense TV is the first TV brand in 2025 to support the second-generation Dolby Vision, and its hardware capabilities are already far ahead. I really don't want to have to attach a TV box just to install a playback client. -
Unfortunately Embys clients still don't support mTLS, so this approach limits you to web browser clients.

Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!

@franekbg has this helped?
