@Lukelooks like something in the jump from emby server 4.9.5 to 4.10.40 has caused issues with transparent overlays in Linux systems. Any idea what the solution might be?

eagleeye208 started following Filmography - Add "In collection" indicator
-
While it is true that all films that an actor is in, will show up at the top of their page, when scrolling a long Filmography section, it would be nice to have a green checkbox, or the row highlighted a different color, to indicate it is already in your collection. It has the side benefit of making it a gamification task, "How many of their movies are marked as in my collection?!".
-
Thank you for doing that. From starting up the application, what are the steps to reproduce?

Issue with Actor Metadata (not all actors) v4.9.5.0
Luke replied to antilog17's topic in General/Windows
Thanks for following up. You may want to look at the logs at all the cases of firefox/76 in the user agent string and hunt down what is sending those requests to your server. -
Hi, at the moment the sources aren't configurable. We'll have to look at making that possible.

Plugin: Tracearr SSE - real-time playback, session, and library events
Gallapagos replied to Gallapagos's topic in Plugins
We certainly strive to outshine the competition and give the most insightful statistics that server owners value! As far as memory goes, if setup correctly it averages under 1gb. Correctly is really just following the docs/callouts in the compose examples. But also using a shared PG instance across many applications is a good way to spread the load out. - Today

Hi, I have a channel that is mixed TV and movies, and it was working fine under movies only. But when I added a TV library, any time I put in a value in the "Include these named tv shows", the 'Save & Preview' fails to load, and the channel does not work. I tried specifying names and just using * in the named tv shows section, but the indefinite loading wheel shows on screen. Can we determine what is causing this? Thanks!

Issue with Actor Metadata (not all actors) v4.9.5.0
antilog17 replied to antilog17's topic in General/Windows
Found the cause! I really screwed the pooch on this one, but just a little surprised the recovery mechanism from this isn't better. So long ago, I guess I had actor metadata stored for this actor in metadata\People\C\Christian Kane\. I think that was a very old path structure that was defined by some really old tools. After learning that there was generally a new way that Emby handled the metadata and that while linux supported both "people" and "People" folders in the metadata folder, Windows was getting confused if I navigated myself. I figured since the mechanism changed, I deleted the "People" folder thinking for any actors now missing, Emby would refresh and pull them down again, but it looks like for some actors, it didn't work. (Bold in the quote below is a path that no longer exists). I did try completely removing Christian Kane from Emby, enabling the vacuum database option and deleting cache after a shutdown. But a series refresh picked up the bad path again (must be saved the database itself). Is it possible to add a request to Emby that when handling actors or other people, if a file is not located, clear out the database entry for that bad field? My dummy placeholder didn't quite work and it looks like I may have permanently corrupted these entries. -
Most sane people delete content from their physical server console, not on their app. This is a great way to lose content.

Move the icon to another corner, save and go into the library for the poster to be drawn. Then send me the Emby log. There might be a hint in it. If you don't want to upload logs here then you can send me one in a PM.
-
No worries - did the downgrade, didn't help unfortunately. ANd I'm not brave enough to downgrade emby itself, but I suspect it's definitely a change made by emby then
-
Yes, i haven't updated the repo yet as there is still some work to be done. Specifically i'm working on making the UI much more user friendly. You can try. Remember to rename the one in the repo to lower case before copy.
-
I don't know what Emby might have changed but EmbyIcons changed to netstandard 2. That shouldn't present any problems though and as said it works on all versions of Emby i have tested. I'm still testing it and while copying your settings between my test servers to see what i can find out. *If any one else has this problem then please report it!!!*

Weird - I've got EmbyIcons 5.58.0.0.... Your GitHub repo looks like its still on 5.57.9.0 though? Would downgrading the plugin help?
-
Yeah I've tried that a few times but unfortunately all it does is move it around. Any idea why it worked with emby 4.9.5 and EmbyIcons 5.57.9.0 but now not with emby 4.10.0.40 and EmbyIcons 5.58.0.0? Was there achnage between those versions that could have done it?
-
Move the icon to another corner, save and go into the library for the poster to be drawn. Then send me the log and i will look at it. That said, i don't think i will find anything. Everything is (as far as i know) working as it should on all versions of Emby i have tried.

Issue with Actor Metadata (not all actors) v4.9.5.0
antilog17 replied to antilog17's topic in General/Windows
Sorry, I think I need to specify more details, because there is some confusion. This is entirely my fault. I apologize. My Emby server is running directly on a QNAP Station that has an intel chip (not ARM). The NAS itself contains the video files so Emby is effectively self-contained to the QNAP NAS. I do have a File Explorer session opened from the Windows laptop to the NAS, but that is directly via SMB, not through Emby. When I access the server via browser, my browser is directly accessing Emby on the NAS, so Windows as an OS is never involved. The error you pointed out is in direct response to the GetByItemid request. whereas the other log file just shows a working response for the other actor -
Ahh yes, it caches the icons to be used when drawing instead of constantly reading from disk. Had the problem of the cache not clearing that as it should when pressing the button. You might need to close Emby and start again for the change to happen and then move the icon for it to redraw it. Sorry about that, i'll try and fix that bug for next version.

I've tried all of those things - And now weirdly, evne though I've given it a completly different image, its still rendering the old one. Even if I clear cache, force reload. Everything...

AgentNFO - Cast, Crew, and Studio management application.

I made this program to scratch a personal itch. I do not use Emby metadata scrapers. I manage that through tinymediamanager and curate what gets written to the NFO file and save the actor image in the .actors folder. Even though I am relatively thorough and retentive about what gets saved to file, I sometimes miss things. I started this project as a simple script for personal use , then it morphed into a python project, and it finally just snow-balled into a full fledged application. AgentNFO is a free and open-source tool that will help you manage actors, directors, writers, producers... any person based XML tag in an NFO. You can manage duplicate actors, incorrect profile images, set default actor images, and clean/homogenize Studio names. AgentNFO can be deployed as a Docker image or native installation. After you get it up and running, you can use it as a PWA (progressive web app). IMPORTANT - AgentNFO is distributed as a Linux container and is designed to run anywhere compatible Linux containers are supported. Development and production testing are currently performed on Linux. Windows and macOS hosts using Docker Desktop may also work, but are not currently tested or officially supported. AgentNFO on Codeberg I made this open-source because I hope someone far smarter than I will take this and run with it. I have a a few ideas kicking around that I might implement, but I have to tell you... I am sick of developing and it was only a few months! -
Issue with Actor Metadata (not all actors) v4.9.5.0
antilog17 replied to antilog17's topic in General/Windows
I did the series refresh, waited for a bit, refreshed the series page in browser and the actor is still in such a state. I even searched in the search bar and sure enough, the actor shows still with the broken image placeholder and the same result of clicking on the actor page leading to the "Authorization failed". Interesting fact to note, is that the actor does not have an entry in the metadata/people folder. There is no folder for him or any file with his name in the people folder. This gives me a thought. Let me try manually adding a placeholder actor for the series (I'll name the entry Kane). Then use the identify option to identify him based on TheMovieDB id number and go from there. I am not on Firefox. In fact, I am on Chrome. This is interesting, but does it lead to an explanation why some actors have the issue and others don't. Logically thinking, if those 404 and authentication failures are happening all the time, why is it only specific actors that result in it? I'll look through the logs myself tonight (didn't have time during the day).
