Hmm what about the lacking info going from 4.8 to 4.9.

As 4.9.3 is a minor update from 4.9.1.90

But what happened between 4.8.11.0 to 4.9.1.80 and the to 4.9.1.90.

This does not describe the new features or breakage going from 4.8 to 4.9.

Hi, it's great to see Emby using Blog posts to highlight new releases. Let's have more of this please!

However, based upon the comments above...

it would be even better if some of the main UI additions and changes could be explained in more detail beyond one line bullet points. This wouldn't necessarily be for every minor bug fix, but just more info on the newer functionality for those not aware of what has been going on with beta releases and not regularly following the community forums.

I don't think this should be a task for the Emby technical developers though. They have enough to do with their time. This task should be a fundamental function of marketing support team members,  to fully understand the new features, and explain them in a non-technical way, as official Emby info, for everyone to easily reference. Ultimately this should also lead to updates of knowledge base documentation. Otherwise many questions will continue to arise through random forum posts, taking even more valuable time away from ongoing development effort.

(Emby for LG WebOS) Combining Movies and Shows has annoyed me enough to log in and post my first ever comment; please give us the option to change this back to seperating the two, or advise if there's already an option to revert.

Thank you for your continued updates otherwise, this minor annoyance is the first real thing I've had to complain about in the 5 years I've been using Emby.

I can't seem to find this option?  I have looked through the "Emby Server" / "Library" and on it Library and Advanced tabs. Can you provide a screen shot of it and where it's located?

Hi, it's in the options for each mixed content library.

Oh, I only have one mixed content folder... all my other folders are either Movies or TV specific.  Can this be an option in the Movies folder to.  This is where it changed all stuff I mentioned in previous thread.

Is it only when you create a new "mixed content" type.   I don't see it as a menu option in the --- menu.

or even better an option to globally set it to classic folder view in the "Advanced" tab under LIBRARY.  Thanks.

It should also be there for movie libraries, both new and existing.

I am confused.. this is what I see when I click on the "..." menu for my movies category under the library.  I don't see anything to change the legacy folder scanning.  Am i looking at the right thing?

I agree, so much so that I am not updating, which obviously is sub optimal. Things like this shouldn't be unilaterally changed in updates without also integrating a way to switch it back.

I think I found another issue with this release.

As you know my entire library is based on the folder view.  My structure is as follows (example)...

Folder <Movies> / <2000-Present> / <A> / <A Breed Apart (2025) 1080p> / A Breed Apart (2025) 1080p.mkv

When adding a new video, I always check my folders to ensure there are no letters of the alphabet to the right of the windows as shown below.  However, since it's been a while since I added any new content, I only just noticed I now have letters of the alphabet to the right, where there should be non, as each folder represents one letter of the alphabet.  In the past, I would check after I added new content and if I found a letter other than the letter of the folder, I knew I made a mistake and corrected it.  I just spent the last few hours, removing videos and trying to fix this.  It just will not sort on with certain words in the front.

In this example, the sorting now longer seems to work, even when I set the SORT TITLE to "A Breed Apart".... it still sorts on the B not the A.

As you can see below, I have set the sort title to "A Breed Apart" and locked it and it still will not sort on that now, for some reason. 

The Letters/Words I found just will not sort are:

-----> A, The, Der, Dos, El  (I prefer these to remain in the front on sorting)

-----> The (Sorts correctly, I put it at the end of a video in SORT TITLE (example: A-Team, The) and it works fine.

Is there a way we can have a setting to remove/add words to the global sorting of a folder.
