Now get Emby on your Nexus Player or other Android TV (5.0+ with LeanBack interface) device.

See what you want - right now

The new Emby Android TV app puts your content right where you want it - up front and easy to find.

Designed with with typical usage in mind, you won't have to go hunting through your library to find the content you are most likely wanting to watch right now. The home screen shows you the items you were watching but hadn't finished, your latest un-watched movies, the next episode of all your current TV shows and what's on Live TV right now (Live TV service required).

In fact, you don't even have to enter the app to get to your most wanted content. The new Emby for ATV app uses the Recommendation capabilities of the device to put your most likely items right on the player home screen.

Wow. This looks amazing. I've been reluctant to get the Nexus player due to lack of ethernet port but now I am tempted. Keep up the good work as always.

Will it support Live TV from the backend?

All Android TV devices are running Lollipop.

Cool, thanks for the update Luke....just another one...does this version of Android support de-interlacing so that Live TV looks good?

How about pass-through on the audio so that DTS, 5.1, ACC etc. works?

I was reluctant too. bit the bullet and found that

- it works very well over wifi

- A wird connection works well with an OTG adapter

Lack of an ethernet port should not affect your buying decision

Looks awesome, glad I didn't buy that new Samsung TV. Anyone know if it will support 5.1 + streaming that you can send to your amp? Also what android TVs are available in Australia?

Was curious about this myself, will this run on FireTV?

The Fire TV is not an "Android TV" device.  We will have a separate app for it.

Looks amazing. Quick question does it play background videos like on embyc (mbc) Npv. Also doe it play videos directly or does it rely on transcoding?

Thanks

Video backdrops and theme songs are not yet supported.

How it plays will depend largely on your content but the device is a streaming device and will not access the files directly over the network.

This looks so promising. Can we see a screenshot of the live tv guide?

I'm curious if I should ditch the roku or the NUC and grab myself a nexus player lol

I can confirm that this works great over WiFi on my ADT-1 Android TV box. I only played one TV episode, but it was much better than Plex. The UI is more intuitive than Plex, and when I use Plex the video freezes at least once, usually twice through the duration of the episode, and I have to back out and resume the video. Emby didn't freeze, which was refreshing.

Would it be possible to make the main color of the app user selectable? No offense, but forest green is just about my least favorite color.
