We've updated our Chromecast app with support for the new Chromecast Audio devices. To receive the update, simply power cycle your Chromecast device and reconnect from the casting app.
In case you've missed it, Chromecast Audio allows you to connect Chromecast devices to any speaker set, allowing you to send media from Emby apps. Emby for Chromecast allows to you play songs, albums, playlists, instant mixes, shuffle and more.

A new beta is currently rolling out to the website for download. This time around, there are only a few new features. We spent a lot of time over the last month resolving defects and refining existing features. Here are the highlights.
Hardware Video Decoding is Here
If you have the appropriate hardware, there is a new setting that you can enable to activate GPU decoding with Intel QuickSync.

Issues Resolved
Resuming transcoded video re-starting from beginning
This is a small bug-fix update to the previous release to help tide you over while we work hard on the next major release. The following issues have been resolved:
Fix occasional hang with automated server restarts on Windows
Fix presence of ffprobe data stream causing subtitles to be ordered incorrectly, leading to occasional transcoding failures.

Frame by frame analysis setting now off by default for all users due to longer library scans. Users will need to re-enable this feature.

Emby for Android 2.3.79 has been released to the play store and now features a new video player built around LibVlc, the same engine that powers VLC.
What this means is you can expect less server transcoding, more stable playback, and faster performance. In future releases you can expect even more enhancements that will take advantage of what LibVlc has to offer.

The latest server release features new and improved video streaming in the desktop editions of Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 11, and Opera. Thanks to our integration with Viblast Player, we now have the ability to utilize Emby Server's HLS and MPEG-DASH streaming, which up until now has been limited to the mobile browsers and standalone apps.
