Enabled Fields: Is it intended to work this way?

As I explaned on my other thread, I'm trying to update all metadata fields from my movies but two: Name and Overview (wich I had edited by hand).

I'm trying to achieve this by uncheck those fields in the parent Movie node:

Then I hit the refresh button, but it seems that uncheck those fields from parent node makes no effect on child ones... names and overview are updated:

I could uncheck individually if I  had 2 movies only, but I have more than 1.3K.

Is there anyway of make the enebled field changes apply to all child items like metadata language does?

they are currently not inherited, no.

Is there any workaround to prevent those fields of being update?

Also is it possible to refresh metadata from local nfo files?

just edit your nfos and let the normal library scan and/or realtime monitor pick up the changes.

Nice to know.

A workaround to enabled field would use find/replace on Notepad++ to edit the nfo:

<lockedfields></lockedfields>  to   <lockedfields>Name|Overview</lockedfields>

But this tag is missing, do you know a way to add it on all nfos at once?

This explains a lot. It is often argued the exactly opposite here in the forum

But that would be really handy!

I think the only seting that is herited is metadata language download. But indeed would be nice to have others too.

BTW, I've managed to modify all items at once with notepad++ using find/replace function:

Find what: <lockdata>false</lockdata>

Replace with: <lockdata>false</lockdata>\r  <lockedfields>Name|Overview</lockedfields>
