Allow users to see other user's sync jobs

Hello,

Folder sync using default sync settings.

Can all users use media synced by any user? I think this is the case. What happens if two users sync the same media? Does the server catch this before going to the trouble of syncing it twice?

I notice from the client sync menu users can only see their own sync jobs. It would be great if users could see other user's synced media and know what is available for watching now. And of course sync other stuff for later. I do realize that the automatic deletion after watching must not be set. My kids often play the same media over and over and the same as each other.

I have this problem because transcoding beats up my server pretty good 35% cpu utilization per stream. So I would prefer users to use synced media. Even in the house a Chrome app invariably transcodes movies but direct streams most if not all TV. I am guessing that is based on container rather than access to media shares. I Direct play media to a theater surround system using hdmi connected to my server and do not want to transcode everything to least common denominator.

So my plan is to disallow users transcoding, allow full speed sync transcoding, and schedule a 15 minute move on the server. Then have users sync media if they get the play error and wait a little while for it to be available. But it would be great for them to see what is ready to watch while waiting for a sync. Also stops me from hearing about them having to wait.

Any interest in allowing users to see other user's sync jobs? Or am I missing something?

I really like the idea of a "ready to watch" list so users can see what is available without transcoding. If not possible within sync jobs, perhaps a report or filter which shows media that is compatible with the device.
