Overview: Frame packing layouts
Frame-packing layouts arrange left and right views so a receiving system can separate and present them.
Side-by-side and top-and-bottom layouts place views within a combined picture, while frame-packed presentation uses another defined arrangement. A receiving system needs to know the layout to assign the views correctly. The pages below illustrate those structures and the resolution or presentation consequences of each.
