ctollsuk 2 Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 When i add one of my external drives as a folder to emby which has movies in it, each in there own folder emby keeps adding this format (pic below) to the drive as such, when i delete and re-ad it does the same? You can see that its adding my movies as episodes? , any help would be appreciated, thanks

rbjtech 5284 Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 (edited) The main thing we'll need to see is an example of the folder naming on the external drive as I assume you have added this as a new path for a 'Movie/Film' library type ? I assume from what it has identified - that you may have a d:\movies\foldername\film.mkv type structure. If yes, then try and add the library one level 'up' ie, instead of adding d:\ - try adding it as d:\movies\ instead. Edited July 2, 2021 by rbjtech
ctollsuk 2 Posted July 2, 2021 Author Posted July 2, 2021 I added a new drive H:/movies which is fine, just my G:/movies drive is coming up as screenshot without emby adding the moves , the drive structure is the same as H: ie each movie in its own folder
rbjtech 5284 Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 hmm - that's a little odd. The film release years should ideally be in brackets - but emby should be ok without the use of brackets. We may need to see a log to see what is going on - can you post the embyserver.log file that contains the library scan following when you added the g:\movies drive ? As a quick thought - try moving all the folders that start with a number into a temporary folder below g:\movies - ie g:\temp - and see if emby then picks up the rest of the g:\folders. We can put them back later.
ctollsuk 2 Posted July 2, 2021 Author Posted July 2, 2021 it keeps adding "The movies that made us", i assume its some kind of series>? will try the other 1st tho thanks
Carlo 4561 Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 My guess also would be improper file naming Instead of Doug 2020 which isn't a valid movie name use Doug (2020) which tells Emby the movie name is "Doug" and the year is "2020". https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming A program such as Filebot would be able to rename all this movies/folders very quickly.
Jerren 17 Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Maybe a dumb idea but you did choose movie library when setting it up and not TV Shows?
