I have a tv show that has an episode labeled s01e00 for the pilot.  Emby doesn't seem to be able to see this show.  Is there an alternative name I should use?  It is scraped from IMDB that way.

Thanks!

Depending on your configured metadata providers, a pilot could be categorized as a special (s0e1, for example), rather than a regular episode.

In cases like that, you name your pilot file to match the metadata provider listing, then use Emby's metadata manager to tell Emby to position that episode before the start of season 1.

Here's a TVDB example where the pilot is considered a special and not part of the regular series:

Are you using your own nfo with imdb metadata before adding the files to emby also on the emby library options do you have the Metadata Downloaders unchecked?

I think it is supposed to be 22 episodes and the pilot.  THe pilot really isn't part of the season but I could be wrong.

I decided to use theTVDB for the scraper as shown above.  I guess it doesn't matter what the numbering is so long as the descriptions match up :)

On the contrary, the only thing that matters it the numbering, you need to use S01E01, as cayars mentioned above.

For best measure rename the episode so it uses the same season/episode as well as title.

BulkRenamer or Filebot would make quick work of this.

I live in BulkRenamer :).

Yes I see this occasionally but all we can do is go off the metadata provider order.  Since both TMDB and TVDB both have the pilot as S01E01 you would have to use that and adjust the entire season accordingly.

Just like TMDB shows 24 episodes (pilot as E01 and E02) and TVDB shows 23
