Recent update has messed up a bunch of stuff that was working fine previously

This latest update has really screwed some things up:

1.  The "Latest TV Shows" and "Latest Music" section are now showing limited items, instead of the bar being full as it previously was (similar to what the "Latest Movies" section looks like)

latesttv.thumb.jpg.7f527c746f696064c3a17605f48599b9.jpglatestmusic.thumb.jpg.28621606f3e4947bffd05b2a7115124e.jpg

Before the update, those bars were both full, and accurate, now they are both truncated, and missing LOTS of stuff.

2. This update seems to have rescanned and misidentified shows that were previously correct:

The TV Version of "Stephen King's IT"

itemby.thumb.jpg.a305442c1c16a954c438ba1e729b1aa2.jpg

Correctly identified by Plex

itplex.thumb.jpg.1fcdc170ff89c704db813deb17df8387.jpg

I've tried to manually identify the show, and it acts as if it doesn't exist in the database to find, when I know for a fact that this was fine previously.

3.  Another misidentified TV show (which was previously identified just fine, and shows correctly in Plex just like the previous example), which highlighted another problem: Emby is now adding stuff from my porn folder into my "More Like This" section:

embyporn.thumb.jpg.a270571892cf8a9b63d8104ad3b3595f.jpg

This feels similar to a previous issue I had where my half watched porn was popping up in my home screen: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/68603-question-about-home-screen-settings/

Again, this TV show identifies just fine on Plex:

plexmobydick.thumb.jpg.1b95e5fc097c129394d52fa3e043d81a.jpg

4.  Speaking of porn.... Now emby has decided that my porn folder, which previously was just showing thumbnails (which I preferred) should now try to automatch to movie releases, so I'm ending up with random movie covers popping up in my porn folder (censored for decency):

embyporn2.thumb.jpg.af664a9fb5c8312620939f43c61de11d.jpg

As always, any help or insight you can provide into getting this corrected would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I tried fixing issue 4 by going into the properties for the library and unchecking all the metadata fetchers boxes and rescanning the library replacing the metadata, but that didn't seem to change anything. I ended up deleting the library and re-adding it with everything unchecked and that seems to have fixed things (although it is still scanning, so we will see).

Hi, Would have loved to try and help you with some of these issue but since you blew it away and are reloading it's not possible.

After the reload, if you see any of these things again (most likely you will), stop and let's go over them.

Undoing meta-data providers is likely not the answer to fixing some of these issues but in using a different library type to fit the media.  But lets go over this after your reload.

The only library i reloaded was for the porn folder. All the others (Movies and TV shows) remain untouched.

@Cayers007 regarding issue 1. in the original post, would this be because of mixed content libraries by any chance? as i'm having the same issue since the latest update, but i have made some changes since then by changing some of the "TV-Shows" Type Libraries to "Mixed Content" Which contain TV-Shows and Movies and are named as they should be

i also removed the mixed content library and went back to "TV-Shows" type library and they all appear in the latest media as they should

i tried removing the library then deleting any NFO files as i read that somewhere which worked for someone

i managed to make one of my mixed content libraries show a complete row of latest media and emulated that with another library but to no avail
@BlazedMonkeyare yours mixed content libraries by any chance?

The only mixed content library I have is the porn folder, the others are correctly categorized as Movies, TV shows, and Music

Regarding identification, check your library settings to see what metadata fetchers you've enabled. That's what the server will be searching on when you use the identify feature.

Like I said, I didn't change anything on the tv shows as far as fetchers is concerned. I haven't touched any settings since shortly after I set this all up a couple years ago. It wasn't until the laat update where the system, I assume, decided to rescan, and screwed thos 2 shows up. They were identified correctly before with the correct metadata and posters, and they are correct in plex. The recent update caused the change.

Why would it be correct before, then suddenly change now?

Just discovered another giant issue:

5. All of my Collections are now empty! Or at least when you navigate to them through "Collections", they all say "No Items". If I go directly to the movie I want, say Mad Max: Fury Road, and I scroll down within the movie information, it lists as being in the Mad Max collection. I can click on that collection from there, and it will bring up the Mad Max collection with all the movies correctly listed. However, if I'm at the home screen and choose Collections, then scroll to the Mad Max Collection, it tells me there are no items.

EDIT: ok, so this is odd. Apparently there are now 2 DIFFERENT "Collections" libraries. This wasn't like this before the update. The correct one is the first one listed, with the custom image that says "Box Sets". This was the original that existed before the update. All the box art is there, but every collection inside says "no items".

The second "Collections" listed, with box art pictures for the image, is what appears to have been created by the update. All the collections in the second "Collections" folder have their respective movies listed inside.

Why was a second "Collections" library created?

I'm not a programmer, but looking at all these issues together, it seems like Emby did a full rescan of all of my libraries, then output differently than it did before, which might be what screwed things up. It seems like you guys changed something fundamental (like the .xml or .nfo layout that was created by emby), so emby rescanned everything after the update to convert it to the new format, and anything that didn't fit with the expected outcome of the new format got overridden.  This would explain why a few movies got re-identified incorrectly, why the porn folder suddenly had movie covers, and why a second "Collections" library was created.

Hi, 4.6 moved collections to being virtual and database driven vs xml based.
So previous collections were upgraded in place.

Feel free to just delete the collection library that has no movies listed and you should be fine.

Let us know how you make out.

Hi @BlazedMonkey has this answered your questions?

Q5 was answered, Q4 I fixed myself (but still don't understand why this was changed to begin with). Q3 was fixed when I rebuilt the library for my porn folder.

Q2: why was it identified correctly before, but now after the update it has rescanned and misidentified it? The same issue appears to have happened with my music library as well. I have "new" stuff in my "latest music" section, but its not really new, it's just okd stuff that couldn't be properly identified after the update rescan.

Q1: no one bothered to answer why these were so severely truncated after the update.

I think @cayars misunderstood my second post where I said I deleted the porn library and rebuilt it. It seems like he thinks I deleted and rebuilt ALL my libraries, which isn't the case. The ONLY library rebuilt was the porn library.

Yes, I did think you rebuilt them all and not just that one lib.

There really is no way to comment about your 1st question without having seen logs for that time period.  Is it still doing this same thing?

It's slowly adding more to the rows as new stuff is added. It seems like any library that had an unmatched item (which would be the tv shows and music libraries) was effected. Movies were not effected, but none of the movies were unmatched in the rescan.

OK, sounds like things are back to normal now and it's just going to continue to build out for you now.

Let us know if it gets worse or you notice anything other issues.

So apparently I spoke too soon.  Now stuff is being removed from the "Latest TV" as stuff is being added:

Compare that with my first post, and you'll see there is still some weirdness going on.  Emby tells me there is an update to apply and I should restart the server, but I'm kind of afraid to at this point....

Just discovered another issue.  I know for a FACT that I meticulously set these libraries up with the correct content type.  Movies for Movies, TV shows for TV shows, and Music for Music.  I went in to delete the extra collections library as Cayars suggested, only to notice THIS:

mixedcontent.thumb.jpg.649cea33e2cde5c278235ca7ecf6c79f.jpg

Somehow both the Music and TV Shows library were changed to "Mixed Content".  That may explain why Moby Dick and Stephen Kings IT were trying to identify as movies and wouldn't automatch correctly, but it still doesn't explain HOW or WHY those libraries content types got changed.

It appears I'm not the only one that had this issue, as Happy2Play posted in another thread:  https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/99146-emby-462-upgrade-problems-and-peculiarities/&do=findComment&comment=1034923

There have been reports of library content type changing on some systems

But yeah, it's 1am now and I need to be up in 4 hours for work, so I'm not dicking with this any more tonight. Let me know how to proceed on this, I'd rather follow advice then try to fix it on my own at this point and get told you can't help me because I messed with something before you guys had a chance to try and help.

Just a thought....have you watched any of the items that were removed? Once an item is watched, it's automatically removed from the latest sections I believe...

That is incorrect. Items will persist in the "Latest" section after you watch them. Perhaps you are thinking of the "Continue watching" section, where they will disappear after you finish the episode/movie or mark it as watched.

Actually it depends on your user home screen options.
