I wanted to give an update, I replaced my old GPU (GT 710) for a "newer" Quadro K2000 for transcoding and ran DDU and downloaded the newest drivers from Nvidia and it seems to have fixed the issue, I'm not sure if it was the driver update or the hardware replacement.

That's interesting. Thanks for the feedback !

Ok - I had two more "sightings" of this today.  So I guess "it's still there" but quite a bit less frequent.

@svdasein can you try with our online web app and see how that compares?

Thanks.

@Luke I will spend some quality time w/ it & let you know.  FYI - I was watching a movie last night and just got into freeze-up hell with it for some reason.  I didn't see any issues at all on the backend vis a vis loads or anything - it just was going like 2 mins and freezing.  I'll try it w/ the same media and see what happens.

@Luke just a heads up - I was all set to get into the "quality time" with the online app, but found that for some reason it would not connect to my server on the workstation I planned to use for it.  I did the manual connect thing and it came back with "cannot connect". I tried both dns and ip.  Note that earlier that day it seemed I *was* able to get it to work - on a different workstation.

Not sure what's up with that. I'll keep trying.

Ok the 4.6.3 server release is also rolling out and includes a fix that may help with this.

Yep - I'm all good too.  I was still having the problem, and it occurred to me that maybe it was just the damn browser, so I checked. Shame washed over me then I did this:

Unpacking firefox (88.0+linuxmint1+sylvia) over (84.0.1+linuxmint1+sylvia)

Problem solved.  Sorry for the crazy mix of variables.  But it's working like a clock now.

I'll be doing some of this now
