Okay so im quite new to this whole emby thing, but i've got my server with my music on it and i can listen to everything with no problem.

But my problem is that i cannot seem to find where to create new playlists, or where to import a saved playlist.

Is this even possible? I can create a new playlist if i select a track and then create a new playlist there.

I've used foobar on my computer and exported a playlist to a .m3u and a .m3u8, and all tracks i had on my computer locally are also on the emby server.

So my question is, if and where i can create and import playlists.

If you use m3u, you don't actually need to import. Emby will use an m3u and allow you to edit as if it was an Emby created playlist. It works incredibly well. Are you seeing your m3u playlists in Emby?

Is that your m3u? Check the file paths to make sure they're relative to where your songs are stored.

That was exactly the problem!

The paths were the one from my local hard disk, i didn't think of that.

Thanks!

it does not work incredibly well. all  songs/entries which contain freign characters (ä,ö,ü,à, è,é,ù  etc) are omitted. no way to import them into a playlist on emby.

Hi, I would suggest trying this again with the new Emby Server 4.7 release. Thanks.

Hi everybody,

I've got a problem with my playlists (yes, they are in relative, and they work fine with Sonos player) :

Emby see them, by don't want to play them :

(translation : Reading error, no element can be played. Are you trying to read an empty folder ?)

and ofcourse not, my folders are not empty !

example of playlist : "..\..\..\Virgin Prunes\1981 - A New Form of Beauty\02 - Sleep Fantasy Dreams.flac"

thanks a lot for your answers

well, it's ok, just a begenner's error : the path must be written with "/", instead of "\"

happily, MusicBee can generate both of playlist formats

Hi, are you on windows?

HI,

yes, I'm on windows ; I use MusicBee to listen to my music on my PC, to organise it, to rate the tracks, to make my playlists (automatic playlists) and export some of them to my phone ;

from time to time, I synchronise my PC with my NAS , and I listen to music in my living-room with Emby, from NAS to Sonos ;

before Emby, I used Sonos application, but I had a lot of problems with it, it never worked when I had to use it !

On windows either should be fine. I've just tested to confirm. There's a good chance this will be improved in the upcoming 4.8 server release. Thanks.
