I may be missing something but I can't seem to find the option to offset subtitles. Can someone direct me? I'm in the web app running server version 4.5.4.0. Maybe it's a setting that I don't have enabled?

This image from the server 4.5 release post shows the option being below stats for nerds but my server web app doesn't have that option.

That applies to external subs only.

It applies for both internal and external subtitles, but not when burning in subtitles with server transcoding.

What would I have to enable/disable to get this working. I never see the option for offset correction and I haven't found any clear documentation on enabling it. I currently have "Allow subtitle extraction on the fly" enabled. Would I have to disable this?

That option generally needs to be on, yes.

OK. Could it possibly be because I primarily only have internal subtitles as @GrimReaper76 previously mentioned? I'm using Chrome.

What device are you using Chrome on?

Have you restricted any user transcoding permissions?

No, this account has full permissions.

I know you requested that Happy2Play split this out two topics but I just downloaded external subtitles via the opensubtitles plugin and I finally have access to the offset option but only on the external subtitles. Seems to be a similar issue.

Hi there, please go over an example. thanks.

I did not have the option to offset subtitles until I downloaded external subtitles from opensubtitles. As GrimReaper76 mentioned, this feature seems to not work on internal subtitles.

Although, I just tested it with a DirectStream and it yielded the same results

As mentioned there is no offset for transcoded items.

You can still use the offset when transcoding, just not in the case if it's burning in the subtitles.

And where will one know this?  I am guessing only in the ffmpeg log.

I'm very sorry, my mistake. There is actually an issue here where the menu is being hidden for internal subtitles when it should not be. this was not the intended design. This will be resolved in Emby Server 4.6. Thanks.
