Tony B. 38 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Is there a way to just press channel up and down with an " input keyevent " It was nice to be able to change the channels to a direct number but + and - would be useful as well.
ebr 16169 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Hi. Nothing to do with ADB but the app already responds to channel up/dn if your remote has those keys (and they are passed through to the app as opposed to captured by the device).

In this case it does matter, I'm issuing ADB Shell commands to change channels. Everything works great but it would be useful to have a channel +/- on ADB, because there is no actual remote. It's programmatically done in Tasker.

You are simply simulating normal input to the app. So, you need to simulate the channel_up and channel_down input events.
Tony B. 38 Posted March 23, 2021 Author Posted March 23, 2021 Now. All I have to do is figure out how to use keycode instead of keyevent
Solution Tony B. 38 Posted March 23, 2021 Author Solution Posted March 23, 2021 "key_channel_up": "adb shell input keyevent 166", "key_channel_down": "adb shell input keyevent 167" Answered my own question. Now I can make a Harmony Remote to control Emby fire directly without the need for HDMI-CEC
