emby playback error

Hello. I have one movie file that always gives me the same error when I try to play it - "emby playback error no compatible streams". The file exists where Emby is pointing to and the file plays playing it from a standard media player. It is in mkv format. I ripped it to mpg and after the error I converted it to mkv format and the error still exists. I tried rebooting Mint with no luck. I am using Emby 4.5.4.0.

thanks, Bj

Hi, where is the media stored? Is it on the same machine as the server?

Hi. Well, this is funny. The file is on a USB drive on the server PC. I was using Emby under Linux on a dual boot pc (Win/Linux). Linux blew up one day. Being far too lazy to dig into what happened I simply ran Emby under Windows, pointed it to my library and let it do the hard work. I was up again in no time. That troublesome movie plays fine now. Weird.

So, Windows solved a problem??

While I have your ear, quick question. If I group movies, when I go into Collections is there a way to look at all the movies within that collection with thumbnails? All I can seem to use is the text pull down list.

How do I ungroup movies?

thanks, Bj

Hi, glad you resolved this. Thanks for the feedback !

Regarding grouping, if you still have a question on that, can you please open a new topic? Thanks !
