legrosmoi 4 Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 (edited) Hello! I copied a Emby server to another computer and I changed the language for the metadata. If I force a refresh metadata on a library all the data is redownloaded in the correct language. However for people, I don't know how to proceed. I changed the default language in the advanced tab where all the library are listed... If I look at an actor and I refresh its metadata, it correctly update to the new language. Task Refresh New People doesn't work since it's only for new people. How is it done for all people in one go? Thanks SOLVED: As suggested by Luke, I deleted the library.db and the metadata folder and rebuilt everything running tasks Scan Media Library & Refresh People. Warning: All my medias have a proper NFO and local images saved with them, thus rebuilding the movie database is quick and I didn't loose any custom edit. Don't do that if you don't have local NFOs. Rebuilding the people metadata took some times, but it worked. Edited February 15, 2021 by legrosmoi
Luke 42079 Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Hi, yes looks like there's no way to do this right now.
legrosmoi 4 Posted February 14, 2021 Author Posted February 14, 2021 If all my media have NFOs and Images saved locally, does deleting library.db and rebuilding it would work?
Solution Luke 42079 Posted February 14, 2021 Solution Posted February 14, 2021 Yes, and also delete the server's metadata folder.
ertagon2 44 Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 I was moving between servers and couldn't really copy over metadata because it was too big to bother. Now I am missing images for people metadata. I can't seem to force the server to re-download them. And removing the library.db is a bit of a hassle. It'd be nice if I could just force-refresh those. Or perhaps just access the DB and drop whatever table is responsible for that so that the app picks up on missing metadata.

Hi, the best way to do it is to refresh the metadata for the media that they belong to, such as the movies, series, etc.
