Luke 42078 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 @craggy are you still having an issue with this?
craggy 2 Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 Thanks for following up. It’s currently working well on my local network. To be honest I’ve not found time , or the need with lockdown, to get it properly set up for external access. Perhaps I’ll give that a go over the weekend!

craggy 2 Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 Dear Luke/Cayars So - I'm going to give getting this set up for external access another go Quick recap - previous server stopped working after years of full functionality. No idea why - various fixes tried all failed. Easiest solution was to set up another new server and start again New server working well over local network, but cannot access from external Presumed to be something to do with port forwarding and difficulty might relate to the installation of new ASUS Zen mesh. Virgin cable modem is connected to the first node in the mesh. I'm thinking I need to setup port forwarding on both the cable modem and the first mesh node. Is that correct? If so, presumably I use the IP address of the node in the cable modem setup. Do I then also need to port forward from the first mesh node to the IP address of the iMac which houses the server? Any advice appreciated. Thanks
pwhodges 2012 Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Surely mesh nodes just bridge, so forwarding isn't relevant. Does canyouseeme.org (or similar) see your machine? If not, maybe your ISP has just activated cgNAT. Paul
Solution Carlo 4561 Posted May 15, 2021 Solution Posted May 15, 2021 It's going to depend on the setup of the first modem. Is it in bridge mode or router mode? If in bridge mode there is nothing to do on that router/bride as all config will be done on the mesh. If it's in router mode then you will need the WAN IP of the mesh. You then port forward the isp router to the mesh router, then port forward the mesh router to the Emby Server.
