I have Emby server installed on my laptop. I have TV shows on an external network cloud drive that it sees fine. I also once had a separate USB external drive specifically for movies. It used to see it just fine, had everything showing, played fine. Then one day for whatever reason as I added new content, it wouldn't rescan the drive and show the new movies. So I removed the source, added it back, and now it won't see anything on the drive at all. I've removed it, restarted the server, restarted the computer, etc etc. I've done everything I can think of. I'm attempting now to remove all the NFOs it put in there in the hopes that that might make it see it again, but I have a feeling it won't because theyre just database files right? It has to scan first. Please help, this is getting frustrating. Thank you so much

Maybe your external HDD got assigned different letter, hence making your library paths invalid?

No it's the same drive letter 😕  I've even tried changing the drive letter and using that too. So the drive letter is correct.

Please post a server log.

What path folder path is shown for you Movie library?  Dashboard-Library

Can you please run a library scan and then attach the server log once it completes? Thanks.

I did notice errors in your log accessing \\192.168.10.100\Public\Shared Videos\TV Shows

If your movies are also on 192.168.10.100 you likely have a permission problem or issue with the device/nas on 100.

Movies are in E:/Movies

TV Shows on the Network drive. Network drive is fine.

E:/Movies is what is not scanning into the library. It was there once and as I added new movies to it, I noticed it wasn't adding the newly added files. Scanned, scanned, scanned. Restarted server, remove source, restarted, added source back. Scanned - No files showing. Ive even uninstalled the server altogether.

Server is running on Windows 10 and E:/Movies is an external USB HDD

The log show the path being watched.

2020-11-28 19:54:29.491 Info LibraryMonitor: Watching directory E:\Movies

Maybe debug logging may show more information.  Dashboard-Logs

When enabling and disabling debug logging, a server restart is required.

Please run another library scan with debug logging and post another server log.

Another thought may be something on that external drive blocking all content.

I don't see The \\192.168.10.100 at all on your Filemon pictures.  In Emby I'm seeing .113 and on Windows HOMECLOUD.

Are these all the same thing?  Can you not use name so IP isn't important?

Yes, they are the same. 113 is designated by the router and somewhere in between either my PC or emby is changing it. BUT, the HOMECLOUD drive is seen. It recognizes new files perfectly. It plays perfectly. It's the USB external that's not being seen. I enabled debug logging, restarted, and scanned files again and not so much as a flicker on the light of the drive. No green bar in emby that denotes scanning is taking place. It will scan if I scan everything,. But when I click on the actual E:/ movies library and select scan, nothing happens. The log file after debugging enabled is enclosed.

The quick way to identify this is to create a new movie2 folder on the same disk and move a folder from Movies over to it.  If that scans in then it's almost always a permission or disc corruption problem. So knowing that work I tried to reset inheritable permissions down the tree and it hung on a file.  That's all telling to me so next up a disc fix.
