Heckler 147 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 I am having a real problem trying to get the correct metadata to load for a new show. The problem seems to be that it is a remake of an old show. This show is called 'The Tomorrow People' My folder structure is as follows TV Shows\The Tomorrow People [2013]\Season 1\the.tomorrow.people.us.1x01.hdtv-lol.mp4 There is only 1 episode so far, and it keeps pulling the metadata for the 1973 show, I have deleted all the info unticked the force refresh, saved hit refresh to make sure it loads what it has saved... So the data is blank. I then manually add the IMBD and TVDB show ID numbers, save once again. So at this point the only info entered is the ID numbers and the name of the show. I untick the force refresh and refresh the episode, nothing is pulled from within the database, so I am confident that the data for this show was overwritten. There is nothing within the show metadata folder because I have deleted it all. So when I hit refresh with the correct ID numbers for both TVDB and IMDB... Why will it only pull the metadata for the 1973 show? It's driving me nuts at the moment.
Solution CWNashvegas 170 Posted October 10, 2013 Solution Posted October 10, 2013 I'm pretty sure it's ignoring the year because it's in brackets. Try parentheses.
Heckler 147 Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 Hmmm... just another update for the server... that's like the 4th one in a couple of days.
Heckler 147 Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 Interesting, I renamed the folder and put (2013) instead of [2013] and it worked... Is that down to a change in code, because [2013] was the way it was supposed to be done in the past... Made getting the right metadata (for movies especially) much easier. Cheers for the suggestion.

swhitmore 781 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Square brackets are used as an identifier in MB3, so that's would it wouldn't work. I can't remember if this is just a MB3 thing though. I've always used round brackets as suggested here: http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/674-media-files-folders-structure/

No. This has been the convention from the beginning. 1
