ramansgdeep 3 Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) The title is self explanatory, but is it technologically possible to force the subtitle appearance on all kinds of subtitles? As I rarely see my subtitles settings being used. Also, whilst on the topic, a grey subtitle color with a black background would also be nice. Edit: The font that the app currently uses for subtitles has the problem of l and I mix-up. It would be nice if a more legible font could be used to increase the accessibility. P.S. - Sorry if I'm coming off as a complainer. I'm very grateful for your product. Edited October 15, 2020 by ramansgdeep Added more suggestions and changed the title accordingly.
Luke 42083 Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 Hi, Ass/Ssa subtitles have their own styles embedded so it would be tricky. In theory we could try to convert them to plain text and then apply the styling, but you're going to be losing subtitle data by doing that, e.g. positioning, graphics, etc.
zuberilol 0 Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 How come these ass subs only work on my android emby app and not windows emby theater?
sooty234 266 Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 You might be using the store app. Try the app from the emby site. https://emby.media/emby-theater.html

Hi there, what does "only work" mean? ass/ssa subtitles are supported in all Emby apps. Please see how to report a media playback issue. thanks.

'Cause if it's the latter then a toggle can be provided to the user if they want to force enable their custom style on all sub types. I don't know much but I'm assuming that emby can provide the sub with the positioning, graphics etc configuration like srt subtitles.
Solution Luke 42083 Posted October 17, 2020 Solution Posted October 17, 2020 Yes more options are possible in future updates. Thanks for the feedback. 1
