Newbie question about device limits

Please forgive me because I'm coming from Plex. I didn't realize that a 25 device limit meant you were locked into those devices and you can't remove them.

As I test and experiment with Emby I've been trying things from different computers and browsers and devices. It's a little upsetting to know that after I've totally switched everything over to Emby from Plex. those devices I've been using that I will NOT be using after migration are now locked to my Emby premiere 😞 People get new devices and now I'll have to worry if I get a new Apple TV or Iphone I can't remove my old hardware from my device limit? Why is that? This basically means I can't simply every get new client hardware because the old hardware device will be using an Emby slot.

Is there any workaround?

Hi.  The devices are not "locked" in.  If you don't use one for a week, it falls off the list.  Also, browsers do not count as it is only Premiere features that have a device limit.

Please see below for more answers:

Is there a limit to Emby Premiere

Thanks so much ebr! That makes a big difference and is actually a relief ! After I just paid for a year of Premiere I was worried about locked out devices 🙂
